The Leadership Void…

It is pure chaos out there and only one thing accounts for chaos; a lack of confidence in leadership. It starts with the president, continues on with congress, and is rounded out by big business executives.

It is the reason we are seeing protesters slaughtered in Iran. When the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on behalf of the president says they are hoping that the turmoil in Iran can be worked out peacefully and to respect the open discourse of the people meanwhile on camera women are being shot; you have to ask, is that leadership?

The House just passed a cap and trade bill that will increase the cost of everything as people are losing home value and jobs all based on a false premise of global warming; you have to ask is that leadership?

Business executives are belying up to bar for free handouts and carbon exemptions all for their bottom line even though consumers will no longer have the money to buy their products, you have to ask, is that leadership.

Our president rambles on just like the neighborhood blowhard that everyone ignores because they have figured out his words mean nothing and action is not part of the equation; you have to ask, is that leadership?

We are represented in congress and the White House by people that no longer care about America, they only care about themselves and this can only result in one thing; chaos. My only fear is that congress is a reflection of who we have become as a nation. I can’t bring myself to believe it but for now we live in a leadership vacuum…

God Please Bless America; again, with some leadership…

Just leave it alone…

This period of slower economic activity is an adjustment that needs to happen. As people tighten their belts what they are doing is paying their bills, putting money away for future needs in case of job loss, and being more careful on how they spend their money. The result is the debt and equity bubble is being paid off which is what must happen to free up money for future purchases.

It is simple and necessary. This cry for people to just keep spending is irresponsible. It is the free markets at work resetting itself. The government’s meddling is only going to lengthen the process that it will take to create liquidity again. Even if the money is made available to borrow (which it is there for credit worthy people) many people are choosing not to spend. And that is their choice that is the market.

What the government spending bill is doing is adding to people’s debt even though they are not willingly taking that debt on. In other words they are working against the market by forcing more borrowing on the taxpaying consumers. It’s like giving the government your credit card for a spending spree. It’s that simple and that concerning.

That is why Wall Street reacted the way they did today; negatively. They know what’s going on here and they don’t like it. Neither should you…

Let’s teach our liberal politicians a lesson in how the private sector works…

Citi-Bank and Bank of America are crying for more bailout money from us and believe they will fail if they don’t get it. Well, they received a bailout already, and if they can’t make it without another bailout here is my suggestion; stop using these banks.

There are many choices (for now) in where you keep your money and utilize financial services. I say teach these banks and any bank taking tax money a true lesson in free markets. Let every customer take their money out and put it into a local bank or credit union that has been playing by the rules.

We need to reward good behavior to get more of it. So if these big banks want our tax money and our politicians want to be in the banking business (this is not constitutional by the way), let’s show them how ruthless the free markets are. They can take over the banks but we can take our business elsewhere. Let’s leave them with a bunch of useless assets and empty vaults.

Then watch and see what they do with their new found business minus the customers. A simple lesson may show them that they don’t want to be in the rough and tumble private sector. Just a thought…
