The current administration is a reflection of the worst traits of what I call the irresponsible generation. We had the greatest generation that sacrificed everything to make a better life for their kids and future generations of Americans only to see its spoils flushed down the national toilet. The lessons learned by the greatest generation have been lost on the irresponsible generation.
Discipline and fiscal responsibility have been completely abandoned for this me, now; live like there is no tomorrow administration that is made up of people that believe in living for today, and that credit is the only way to get your stuff in life. We have seen the results and they are grim.
We are mired in a debt to other nations that have for most of our history been our enemies. Without the “investment” of these recent enemies we might have a run on the bank. We might have to suffer the pain of actually paying a bill or two on time. Without our enemies we might have to make the hard decisions to cut back on spending rather than continue the irresponsible policies. Imagine how hard it might be if we asked people to save 20% before purchasing a home? The hardship. What if we asked the people running the government to end programs that are no longer necessary? The hardship. What if we ran our government according to the constitution? Outrageous! Instead we rely on our enemies to fund our irresponsible behavior but we must ask; what does our enemy expect in return? Who cares as long as the irresponsible regime can keep up the rosy façade of a system that is fundamentally bankrupt?
The first hint that a candidate might address the Social Security shortfall or the Medicare entitlement they are targeted as mean spirited and anti senior. The fact is that most of the elderly already on Social Security and those close to retirement have nothing to fear except the irresponsible generations answer to do nothing. The future generations are being bankrupted by the current irresponsible generation because they are ignoring practical solutions so the entire system doesn’t go bankrupt. The same goes for every government program. We have to reform them before the entire system goes bankrupt and still the irresponsible generation wants to do nothing.
We have two wars going on in faraway lands with the irresponsible generation in charge of the outcomes of these wars. The irresponsible thing to do is ignore them and this administration is doing a great job at just that. The irresponsible generation has been spoiled and has been brought up being saved by their elders. The problem is they are now the elders. It would be nice if they realized that but that would mean taking responsibility.
The responsibility for fixing all of this will be left to the next generation if we survive as a nation. The next generation will have no one to look to for guidance because they will have been left no choice but to be responsible. They will be the generation that ends up cleaning up the mess at their own expense. I hope the irresponsible generation remembers this when the next generation stops paying their bills…
That is a sorry legacy to be part of…

Socializing Your 401-K…
As if the healthcare takeover isn’t enough for this administration, they have plans for everything from Cap & Trade (stop energy production) to Eminent Domain takeovers in our state (stop energy production), to the takeover of your 401-K account. That’s right, the hard earned money you have accumulated through sacrifice and hard work is the next target for this group. How else do you think they are going to fend off bankruptcy? The idea was floated back in 2008 but it is again under assault.
As you watch this administration bully through healthcare, they will use the same techniques to bully representatives to socialize your 401-K. What does “socializing” your 401-K mean? It means taking your private account that is in your name in a private fund and putting it in the Social Security “trust” fund. The key word is trust. There is no “Trust Fund” and you can’t trust the government to do the right thing with your money.
There are trillions of dollars in the market that is made up of your 401-K savings. Are you willing to give that money to the federal government? If you don’t vote for the right people in 2010 you may not have a choice.
As Governor I will fight for our constitutional rights and fight to limit the federal ability to socialize your 401-K. Is there any other candidate talking about this issue? Why not? Because too many polticians and state level legislators have given up the fight against our federal government. I believe the fight has only just begun…

Social Justice?
What is social justice? What is economic justice? I know what criminal justice is; I think. But I hear these terms and my antenna goes up, especially when I look at the type of groups that are promoting it. They are definitely not the same groups promoting constitutional justice or individual justice.
The term seems so benign and that is what makes it so effective for the groups using the term. Social is simply society, and justice is something we all want, right? Wrong! The people and groups promoting social justice are the same people that believe in collectivism, communes, socialism, and what they really have in mind is the end of capitalism. Social justice is the antithesis of capitalism.
It is the belief that everyone deserves the same even if they have done nothing to earn it. It is the same people supporting the current administration in Washington, government healthcare, the takeover of private property by the government, environmentalists, many church groups, and too many people that don’t understand basic human nature. Social justice, economic justice, socialism, communism, fascism, all have a common goal to control your life and destroy individual freedom and property rights.
Think about a country where there was no right to private property. Think of a country where no matter how hard you worked you could only earn up to a government decided wage, and everything else was taken away to give to others. Think about a country where the government tells you what healthcare you must purchase, what car you can drive, how warm you can keep your home. Even if you believe that any of these things are commendable, who do you trust to decide these things? Therein lies the problem. There goes your freedom. There goes our constitution. There goes our country.
For some this may be attractive, in America we should know better. We have a few centuries of data and results that counter the social justice, economic justice arguments. We know that private property is the foundation of freedom. We know that taxation and redistribution kill’s incentive. We know that it is morally reprehensible to take from one person to give to another against their will. Most of us call that stealing. We know that competition creates efficiency and ingenuity which has fueled our ability to be compassionate and a beacon for the people shackled into socially justified nations.
So when you hear someone say social justice, ask them what they mean by that? You may find they are just ignorant of the implications of such policy. Or you may find a person with a devious motive to steal your right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Don’t be fooled. There is nothing benign about social justice…

What is America’s View of Socialism?
A recent Gallup Poll suggests 36% of Americans have a “positive image of Socialism.” It is telling when the results are broken into groups. 53% of Democrats have a positive attitude compared to 17% of Republicans. Here is my analysis after reviewing the poll results.
The poll respondents were asked “Just off the top of your head, would you say you have a positive or negative image of each of the following?”; what we are actually seeing in the poll results is more about education rather than party affiliation. I say that because when the same respondents are asked about small business for example the results are basically the same between the groups. They hover in the 95% range positive. When asked about their image of the federal government we see 67% of Democrats with a positive image compared to 27% of Republicans.
I don’t believe if the respondents were asked; do you believe that the government should run all businesses in America? The response would be much different than the small business result. I don’t believe if you asked; do you believe everyone should get the same pay no matter what job they do or career they pick? The response would be overwhelmingly no. If you asked; do you believe that you would be better off if the government chose your home, school and career? Most people would say no.
The reality is that Republicans are more in tune with what socialism truly is and have not believed or been exposed to the same sources of information as the Democrats. Democrats have believed and been exposed to bad information, and have not been asked the right questions. Democrats have a belief that government is compassionate but again if they were asked; do you think public education in the city of Detroit has been successful? The answer would be no. The federal, state, and local governments are responsible for that but like many democrats they are not exposing themselves to the facts and results of government programs. It is not that democrats are not smart; they have not been asked the right questions.
Socialism is a destructive system that would ruin this nation. If asked the right questions or exposed to the correct information; the results would be nearly unanimous; the image of socialism would be bad, just like the system.

Conservatives are the “Progressives”…
There seems to be this unchallenged premise in the media and society in general, that conservative people are unwilling to change, or embrace new movements. This couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s strange to me how some perceptions are so wrong and rarely challenged like Hitler was a “right wing conservative” nut job. He was definitely a nut job but he was a socialist big government authoritarian which is completely counter to a conservative philosophy. He utilized a hatred for Jews because the Jewish people were extremely capable capitalists. It was easy for Hitler to demonize Jews because it is easy to demonize capitalism. But why?
Why is capitalism easy to demonize? Because capitalism rewards individual success and is completely devoid of emotional considerations. Emotional arguments take less thought and are easily understood. Capitalism doesn’t care if someone is white, black, red, green, male, female, minority, majority, capitalism is blind. Capitalism decides based on performance that someone wins and someone loses, it rewards excellence, ingenuity, hard work, sound principles and judgment. These incentives are seen as cold and uncaring but it is exactly that principle that makes it so effective. Capitalism doesn’t change the rules to accommodate emotional feelings or personal attributes. So how does this all tie into conservatives being more “progressive”?
If you think of the things that enable a society to be progressive, they are built on conservative principles and capitalism. By enabling individuals to succeed and create great wealth for themselves and others, benevolence increases due to this accumulated wealth, and a society thrives and has the ability to provide for the poor, educate the masses, and support the many “progressive” programs that people of liberal persuasion are always claiming to support. It is conservative not liberal principles that allow for a country to be “progressive”.
If we were to abandon capitalism and conservatism for a liberal socialist agenda, the incentive to create wealth will be destroyed because the rewards are distributed based on emotion and the authority of government. People will labor for themselves but they will only labor for others if forced to by an authoritarian government. So the question now is; is authoritarian government “progressive”? I would argue authoritarian governments destroy the ability to provide for the people and history backs me up here. So people that want all kinds of programs from government are not progressive they are authoritarians.
As a society we must stand on principles and that is what conservatives believe is best for a progressive society. Principles are universal and can be found in the Ten Commandments, the U.S. Constitution, Natural law, etc… Conservatives are principled in nature and understand that prosperity is found through strong principled societies. It is why the Founders believed we would only survive as long as we were a moral nation believing in a divine power. It is conservatives who are trying to maintain these principles, therefore maintaining our ability as a nation to be progressive.
The people trying to undermine our principles are the people that will destroy our abilities as a nation to continue to be the hope of the world. If we allow the people who today call themselves “progressives” to continue down this current path of expanded government and limited capitalism and faith, they will become the authoritarians; just like Hitler…

$250 to Social Security Recipients…
The congress is about to approve $250 for 50,000,000 ($1.25 Billion) for seniors because inflation is flat and does not justify any increase in benefits this year. Why the increase then? The honest answer is politics and politicians fishing for votes. Any congressional representative voting against this will have a very angry constituency. The reason benefits were tied to cost of living figures is to keep up with inflation. Makes sense. So when prices are flat and come down some things get cheaper. That is where we are at now, prices are dropping and the cost to live is cheaper. This is the problem with every program that has a politician at the helm; they never control or reduce costs, they always increase them no matter what the circumstances are. They are in the business of buying votes.
In the market buying a house is cheaper, gas prices are down, sales are everywhere in the retail sector, but with out of control federal and state spending the value of the dollar, increases in Medicare and Medicaid, along with the addition of government taking over everyone’s healthcare, taxes are going to have to go up. How do you think seniors are going to feel when social security remains flat and taxes go up?
There are people that will need the $250 but many seniors use social security as a supplement to their retirement. People that are in the workforce have seen wage freezes, reductions in pay, mandatory unpaid furloughs, and layoffs. Why would the people currently under wage freezes be forced to pay for social security increases? Things are flat for them too.
The fundamental problem with all government social programs is the divisive nature that pit one generation or group against each other. Being dependent on government for retirement is a really risky place to be. The next generation needs to find better ways that rely on their own wealth creation.
Healthcare will be the same problem. The risk seniors need to consider is a $250 increase in social security is one thing, life and death situations another. Government will want to provide the care that seniors demand but eventually the money will run out and the younger generations are going to resent having to pay because their families will not have the same standard of living we have grown up with.
We can’t allow for the takeover of healthcare because it is so clear to see that it will be another divisive program pitting generations against each other. We don’t need programs; we need real solutions without government completely taking over…

Van Jones is the problem…
The people that want to fundamentally “transform” America, disregard the U.S. Constitution, and create a country that will forever be inferior to the founding principles, find their ideas in people like Van Jones. He is the reason true Americans are upset and protesting healthcare, cap and trade, stimulus, and everything else this administration is putting forth to “transform” us.
You see the key word is “transform”. The way Obama defines transform is the end of capitalism, individualism, wealth, and democracy as we know it. He is a socialist at heart but he is finding that the majority of Americans are smart enough to know that equal opportunity does not translate into equal outcomes.
Van Jones is just one of many socialists, Marxists, communists, and anti American advisors Obama chooses to sip wine and eat cheese with to discuss their utopia, elitist, ideas together. They are smart people that believe theory and reality can be melded together to form a utopia. In government the only way things like “utopia” come to fruition is by force. Force from someone or some group that knows better. And boy do these “advisors” think they know better.
They apparently know how to run banks and car companies better than the free market, they know when it is time for the elderly to die through end of life panels, they know how much carbon we should allow into the air in order to preserve the earth, and will shut down any business they deem necessary in the process, and they know better than our founders on the way this government should operate.
This is the sixties radicals with the keys to the parents summer house. What happens is it all starts out with good intentions, and as the party continues, it spirals out of control, and the once beautiful home is destroyed. The parents come home and have to put things back in order. If only our country could be fixed that easily after this crew gets its programs forced on us. The destruction may be irreversible and that is the passion you are seeing in town hall meetings.
Van Jones is the tip of the iceberg. We must continue to fight these elites tooth and nail. Van Jones is a good first start…

Government “Stimulus” depresses the economy…
The Obama administration is touting that their economic “stimulus” is on track to accomplish what it set out to do; spend money. The problem is and the reason unemployment remains high is because the government is not stimulating the job creation, they are giving money to people and state governments that are transferring it to individuals that are trying to stay afloat.
If you want to stimulate the business community, the engine of the economy, you have to do something for them. They don’t want money they want clear policy and a reduction of costs to hire, produce, and expand their business. How do you do that? Make it cheaper to do business. The US is the second most costly place to do business in the world. That is the problem.
All the government would have to do is cut employment taxes, capital gains taxes, and reduce the top marginal tax rate to 30% and maintain it for five years. That would be a start and that would be a stimulus. Instead they are doling out money to things that have nothing to do with job creation and are just putting us into more debt.
Taking money from the “rich” (people who risk, and create jobs; small business) does exactly the opposite than the goal of stimulating the economy. The two questions you have to ask are; is it because they don’t know what they’re doing they are leaving out the tax cut option or is it because this is exactly what they want to do to this country?
I think it is the later…

Obama Demolishing the American Dream…
Flint Michigan is one of the poorest cities in America, and Obama wants to demolish what is left of the neighborhoods and homes in this once great city. The proposal in Flint and now being considered by the Obama administration is to destroy the abandoned homes in all of the cities that have them. No one wants abandoned homes in their neighborhood but what this represents is a total failure of the American education and welfare systems in America.
If you look at where these neighborhoods reside and who makes up the people that live there it is apparent that government and the education systems run by government have failed; miserably. Our poorest communities have been promised by the Obama’s of the world that their trust of government would be rewarded with a better life. What the government has actually done is criminal. The government has failed to educate these communities and has created a dependence on welfare that has stolen and now has “demolished” literally the American Dream for these people.
This is what we need to consider as we see Obama’s socialist government trying to run our financial institutions, car companies, and healthcare. Government is a complete failure and has stolen the dreams of generations of Americans that have been fooled into believing their empty promises. The government has a proven track record that is an undisputed failure. Will we learn from their record or will we be fooled into more promises of a better tomorrow?
Ask yourself; are you willing to allow this government to demolish our healthcare, finances, and car companies just like they have demolished the inner cities of America?

Socialist Utopia?
Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad agree “capitalism needs to go down!” Socialism is the government of choice for these two thugs, and add in Castro to the mix and you have to ask yourself; who would want this way of life for America? Unfortunately our current president. He believes in big government and big government control to make all things “fair”.
Don’t be fooled that the crime, poverty, and hopelessness can’t happen here in America because it is. Just look at any inner city, New Orleans before Katrina, Detroit, NYC, South Central LA and you see what socialism does for the plight of people. It makes everyone equally miserable. If that is “fairness” give me good old competition and inequality any day. It isn’t that it’s not equal opportunity in America; it is just not equal outcomes.
People that work harder are rewarded for their hard work in a capitalist America. People that want to count on others for their happiness can wait around in misery for that day to come; God Bless you. There is nothing unfair about America except for the people that have invested their future in government help, solutions, and programs. They have been unfairly duped into waiting around for a better day. That day will never come unless they put their faith and trust in themselves as individuals.
Socialist utopia? It will never happen no matter how eloquent the argument is made… It can only happen if it is forced on us by politicians that ignore the constitution, and we as Americans ignore the actions of our politicians…

An Outrageous Distraction!
This entire AIG bonus issue is such a distraction to the bigger issues here that you can expect the politicians to keep it in the news as long as they can. The distraction is simple to understand; taxpayers save a company and find out bonuses are paid out to a company that would have failed without our money which is definitely a problem.
But the real issue here is the fact that AIG has been picked for a bailout because of their contributions to politicians. Chris Dodd received $103,000, Obama $101,000 so of course they are going to receive help from politicians to stay in business. These two and many other politicians have a vested interest in keeping AIG viable.
This is pure and simple class warfare and socialism all wrapped into one issue. First, people believe these bonuses aren’t deserved. In that they are right but there are contracts in place that guarantee these people that are commissioned based get their due. The perception is that these bonuses are going to rich people which may or may not be true but people are starting to resent people of wealth. Contracts in America are the legal foundation of our society. Having government oversee a business like AIG is socialism and this is an example of one of the many problems of having government involved in business.
This phony outrage by the likes of Barney Frank and others is disturbing. More disturbing is the comment where Frank had a total disregard for the contracts in place. As if he could just wave his wand and demand the contracts be null and void. That will not and cannot happen. I understand the remark coming from Frank because he is truly and imbecile, a disgrace to our country, but more disturbing is the support he seems to be getting for going after these employees.
Instead of focusing on the pay to failed executives in the private sector how about we focus on the failed executives in our government? Trillions ($1,000,000,000,000+) of tax dollars are being wasted right under the nose of this congress and they have the nerve to focus on 165 million! Social Security is going bankrupt, 16 billion of waste and fraud in Medicaid and Medicare, a welfare state that steals the hopes and dreams of millions of Americans, to name a few failures, and these guys are trying to distract us with this 165 million dollar contractual payment to employees that have been unlucky enough to have been taken over by the government.
This is outrageous that we are so willing to follow this story but are not willing to hold these distracters (our congress) accountable for the trillions they are wasting. When will we learn; the government is the biggest problem we face in this economy, not a 165 million dollar bonus…
P.S. Happy Birthday Mom!

Rush Limbaugh will win…
The democrats and Obama believe that because Rush Limbaugh is unpopular in a recent poll conducted by a democratic pollster, vilifying him and making him the “spokesman” for the Republican Party is good strategy for them. I’ve got news for them; Rush will win! Why? Because Rush has the truth and history on his side. He also is one of the greatest orators of our time.
Here’s a thought; let’s have a speech contest between Obama and Rush, no tele prompters, no notes, just a speech on socialism vs. free market capitalism and its impact on society. Let’s see who comes out on top in a forum where core beliefs are on display, not just the ability to read a tele prompter but how to persuade people into understanding ideas and concepts.
This strategy of the democrats is going to expose more people to Rush and that is a good thing. They are going to start listening more intently to what Rush says, and that’s a good thing. They are going to be exposed to critical thinking, truth, and humor, and that’s a good thing.
I hope Rush’s audience expands exponentially because of this strategy because what it will mean to America will be priceless. We will see the biggest change of government in 2010 that we have ever seen in this country’s history. If people start listening now, 2010 will be a very good year.
Good luck and God Bless Rush Limbaugh…

Go with your gut!
I have always lived by some basic principles; honesty and trustworthiness, hard work, and financial discipline. I have never been caught in a buying or selling frenzy because I always listened to my gut. When people were buying dot com stocks by the boatload I was investing in balanced mutual funds. When people were buying property and flipping it for a profit I was paying down my mortgage.
When people were refinancing to afford vacations, RV’s, and second homes, my wife and I were investing in balanced mutual funds. When we reviewed our finances in the first half of 2008 we believed our strategy was working and was a pretty solid plan based on results. We weren’t getting rich quick but we were living the dream and could see a successful future for our kids and our retirement.
My gut instinct in the 2008 election was that we had two really bad choices for president, one an outright socialist with no experience running a business never mind and economy, and the other was a career politician with no experience running a business never mind an economy. The only thing I could hope for was that the career politician from the Republican Party would have the government less involved in the economy compared to the man that was elected. Because my gut feeling about the man we elected was he could ruin this nation for decades to come. And based on the short time he has been in office it could be that he ruins this country for centuries to come; maybe forever.
My gut now is that many Americans are starting to wake up to the evil that socialism brings to a society; class warfare, an assault on individual rights and freedoms, the undermining of capitalism which is the engine of our success, and the theft of hope for achieving the American dream. The gut feeling I have is that the stock markets agree with my gut and it is punishing the new administration but they are not smart enough to understand what is happening.
My gut instinct is that we Americans that understand this must reject the direction we are going. It is not a “new” direction, as this administration and its supporters suggest, it is a direction that has been tried by the Soviet Union under Stalin, Cuba under Castro, Venezuela under Chavez, and Germany under Hitler, and the results are well documented and not what we need for this country.
My gut is that divine intervention will assist America as has happened in the past but we need to be prepared to intervene on our own behalf. Go with your gut. What does your gut say?

If you don’t agree with the “stimulus” move your money…
Don’t fret if you don’t like the government’s bank takeover, just move your money. The best way to fix this mess is to “punish” companies that take tax money. Pull your money from Citi Bank, Bank of America, or don’t buy a car from a company that refuses to make the hard financial changes and choices like GM.
As long as there is a choice make the choice that sends the message you want sent. If you agree with nationalization do business with those companies, if not don’t do business with them. Teach them a lesson in capitalism.
We are moving in the wrong direction and must fight for the values we were built on, freedom, limited government, strong defense, and individual accountability and opportunity.
Don’t give up on a better future, create one. Just a thought…

Why so fast?
Obama is out on the campaign trail pushing for this bloated spending bill that is truly an assault on our freedom with the intensity of a time bomb ticking in an episode of 24. Why so fast?
Socialists are trying to leverage a brand new president’s popularity and support. He is using fear tactics unbecoming a President as he brands it with clever rhetoric in campaign like speeches.
I listened to Arlen Specter on the Laura Ingraham show this morning, one of three republicans that are willing to sign on to this boondoggle, defend it as necessary even though he doesn’t like it. Who the heck keeps voting for this man in Pennsylvania? Not an ounce of common sense in this man on this issue. Even John McCain is against this bill. That says a lot.
Calls to Capitol Hill regarding this bill are estimated 100 to 1 against this bill. Where is the media? Where is the outrage beyond the talk radio circuit in the media?
Are we being represented in our government? How can we accept a congress that disregards the people with such contempt? How do we stop this as citizens? It is so frustrating I have heard callers suggesting that we all stop paying our taxes to stop the flow of money to DC. (Why not - democratic politicians don’t seem to pay their taxes) This same caller asked what could the government do if 150 million of us did this; arrest us all? Let them try!
The reason Obama and the socialists are pushing this so hard and trying to scare the pants off everyone is they know that the people don’t want it the more they know what’s in it! If they can get it passed fast we the people will return to our busy lives and forget about this in a few months; they think. And maybe they are right but I feel a tide changing. In the meantime if this bill passes they will have transformed this country to one that our ancestors would never recognize.
It is time to engage in the battle to take back the future of our country. We do that by staying tuned, speaking out, getting people elected that want to slash government from our lives at every level of government from, city council, school board, Mayor, State Representatives, to Governors. Let’s elect people with the backbone to stand down Washington DC and shut off the spicket of money going there. It can be done we just have to do it together…

Stop right there! Only the States can stop the Feds now…
It is completely out of control in Washington DC. We have a bunch of bumbling idiots in charge of the treasury and the country’s future. Talk of trillion dollar deficits, cap and trade, bailouts, tax welfare to those that don’t pay, taking over our healthcare and economy; like in the Meatloaf song “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” where the woman screams – “STOP Right There, before we go any further do you love me, will you never leave me…”
The state Governors must pull out their pocket constitution and read the 10th amendment carefully for their next step in strategy. Instead of putting their hands out, they should be shutting the door on the federal government. As Raficki in the Lion King says to Simba- “It is time…”
It is time to refuse the unfunded mandates, audit the cost the federal programs like Medicaid, and the impact it is having on the states both financially and socially, review our Return on Investment of our tax dollars in Education, and decide if we are a nation of freedom or going to allow the federal march toward tyranny?
If the Governors had the guts that our Founding Fathers had, this would have been done a long time ago. They gave the states the rights, now we need some leadership to stand up for those rights. The states are not perfect but at least we can drive to our State Houses to protest, support or influence our government. It is closer to home and more controllable.
We need the feds to focus on national security, the war on terror, trade policy and that’s it! They have shown no competence to handle even those things but as a constitutionalist, we have to give them their legal due. Just a thought…

Absolut Boycott; Now…
Whoever came up with this ad campaign has made a very strategic mistake. If the strategy was to sell more Vodka in Mexico the ad will work but if the ad campaign was expected to sell more vodka overall; it failed. I don’t drink vodka but I will remind everyone that does, not to drink Absolut.
The map that is depicted in the ad shows the states of California, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona, as part of Mexico. The ad is an effort to bring “pride” to Mexico. That is a lofty goal because if you look at what Mexico’s greatest exports are, drugs, illegal labor, and poverty; creating a sense of pride will take more than a Vodka ad. Americans are very sensitive to the radicals that believe the Southwest is Mexico’s, and this ad fuels those fears and unlocks pent up emotions.
They have under estimated how powerful Americans are when they unite around a cause. We will fight to the death for our country. With the sensitivity to the illegal immigration debate, this ad was a very poor choice. Just a thought…

Socialism is an abject failure…
As the riots continue in the suburbs of France, the effects of socialism are on display for all to learn from; again. I am baffled by our liberal and elite politicians continued efforts to take us down a path of socialized; healthcare, retirement, education, energy, etc… There is this “utopia” that these so called educated folks see that can only be obtained by creating this socialistic model that drives to create; fairness, sameness, mediocrity, and collectivism.
But the evidence and history lessons are clear on all attempts to implement socialism in any aspect of life, and history tells us socialism always ends in failure. It is so plain to see in my eyes, that anytime you try to go against human “instinct” you will fail. Humans are competitive by nature, it is a survival instinct. We know the strong survive and in order to be strong you can only count on yourself to create strength. No one else will do that for you because we know through instinct, that if someone is stronger, they pose a threat. So as the elites try to move forward the idea of socialism, they are actually creating strength for themselves. Good for them, bad for us. We know that so we push back when we realize what they are trying to do. This is the stuff college class material is made of, but in the real world we know it is true.
Socialism is sold as being fair to all but in reality it is the most unfair system of all. What is fair about some people doing the work and everyone shares their labor? Who decides who will work and who gets to sit on their butts to collect the fruits of the labor? Why do I have to pay for your housing and health when you are completely capable of providing it for yourself?
Socialism has to be forced on the people; therefore there is always resentment toward the people applying the force. For socialism to work, someone is always taken advantage of by the collective group. We see it in our Social Security system. The young people of this country are being forced to give the elderly a large percentage of their pay so the elderly can drive around in their campers coast to coast while the young go to work every day to pay for this luxury. The elderly think they have paid their way but most elderly have long taken what they have put into the system and would be surprised at the numbers. Social Security has created an us and them, young vs. old, have vs. have not’s.
Instead of having people put money into their own retirement accounts, SS puts the money in a big pool (socialism always is a big “pool”) where the only criteria to get it is age. So if you are a millionaire and have all the money you would ever need, you still get SS. It cultivates a, “it’s my money I paid into it” mentality (which is exactly why socialism doesn’t work), which causes resentment and anger amongst the young and old, but that is always the result of socialist programs. There is always resentment and anger. And that anger always ends up dividing the people and results in a resentment of the government running the program.
So as France deals with the riots we need to take another lesson from them and remind our politicians that market based programs are always the best. We do not need people standing around unemployed and expecting benefits they have not earned. It leads to anger, resentment, and violence. The only way to provide a good life for our citizens is to give them the ability to create their own. Just a thought…
