Religious Liberty is a Fundamental American Right…

President Obama has again targeted the US Constitution in an effort I believe is at the heart of his “transforming America” agenda.

It is interesting to watch how a supposed constitutional law teacher approaches the constitution with such disregard. If Obamacare is not deemed unconstitutional in its mandates to force Americans to buy health insurance, we are in for a revolution. I believe we will see the first step in that revolution on Election Day 2012.

As part of the President’s healthcare bill he is mandating private religious institutions to provide contraception and abortion drugs as part of their “health plans” for employees. The argument is that there are non-religious employees and they deserve plans that include the morning after pill or condoms. It is a red herring argument. The true motivation is to undermine religious liberty.  These employees can choose to work at other organizations that provide such benefits or pay for those services themselves. They have a choice.

These private, Catholic hospitals are operated under the doctrines of religious beliefs that do not support contraception or abortion. These religious hospitals are being told they have to change, ignore their beliefs or be shut down by the government. This fight is not about abortion or contraception but a fundamental First Amendment fight. The First Amendment reads:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The free exercise of religion is the reason people migrated to this country in the first place. Religious liberty is in our DNA as a country and this President is trying to “transform” this country by undermining this basic principle. His assault on Catholics is despicable and indicative of his feelings about our Judeo Christian values. He is disguising his argument by saying Catholic hospitals get federal money therefore need to fall under the general employment rules the same as other organizations. The problem with the argument is that the Catholic Hospitals provide a necessary service in many communities and it is the Federal Government that should be bending over backwards thanking them for the good work they do for so many non- Catholics.

This mandate to undermine Catholic doctrine could result in the closing of Catholic institutions which would be devastating in some communities. I wonder if the Federal Government would mandate Muslim institutions to serve pork on their menus?

This President is anti-Catholic, anti- Constitution, and anti-American.  He is a disgrace and needs to be rejected in November. Religious people of all faiths need to band together to maintain one of the most basic freedoms of American life; religious liberty. America is a beacon for all faiths to practice without the intrusion of government telling them what they must accept as doctrine. This President has declared war on Catholics and must be defeated. I believe he will be…

Back in the USA…

I spent last week in Brazil at an event for work. I am now back and don’t know where to begin?

• Notre Dame: Shame on them and bless the 4000 quiet protesters on campus that were ignored by the media.

• Netanyahu: Was elected after Israel had enough of liberalism and where those policies have landed the country. He knows the truth in Reagan’s “peace through strength”. He is a real man and a real leader of his country and everyone that knows how the mid east peace will actually come about; strength, honesty, and integrity to call it for what it is.

• Joe Biden: Is an idiot. Although he would probably be fun to have a beer with.

• Pelosi: Continues to be a consistent liar.

• The government continues to grow and the economy continues to fail. Hmmmmm!

I will be back for more in depth analysis soon enough. God Bless America…

Muslim World Explodes Again…

Many here in the US are not paying attention to the recent air strikes conducted by Israel in response to the constant barrage of missiles being launched into southern Israel by Hamas. Hamas is the Muslim terrorist group elected by Palestinians to be their leaders. The goal of Hamas is to wipe Israel off the face of the map. So much for the “religion of peace”.

Why is it, wherever Muslims are dominant terror and war reign supreme? It is simply an observation. War, terror, poverty, hopelessness, ignorance and violence.

We just celebrated the birth of our prince of peace, Jesus. It seems that the people that follow Jesus live in hope, peace, and prosperity. Not perfect but always working to be better.

Israel has no choice but to respond to protect their people. They would be quite happy living in peace if only their neighbors had a bit of civility in their doctrine. But that seems to be the missing component of their neighbor’s religion. Just an observation from afar. Let’s keep it that way; afar…

Faith Based Initiative or Invasion?

Barrack Obama gave a speech on faith, and he did a masterful job of trying to lure in the Christian community. He said all the right things about his own Christianity and to some, he may have seemed in touch with the Christian community in this country. After spending most of his life in a radical anti establishment congregation, this may have been his attempt to distance himself from that fact.

Listening closely to the words though brought into view the real motivation of his speech which was to impose on religious organizations the same rules as government institutions. That’s right; he is trying to get his nose under the church tent through faith based initiatives. He clearly and emphatically stated that religious organizations will be held to the same hiring rules as government, force religious institutions to accept the views of those that disagree with them, and force them to give up the “discriminatory” tenants of their faith to receive funding from the “devil”.

So the press will cover this as the coming of some new “messiah” but what it really was, was the first salvo in his war on the religious community in this country. He knows that this community must be “defeated” in order to implement the strong arm of government on the good people of this nation. Don’t be fooled by this wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is all knowing in his approach to destroy the faith and Christian Judeo heritage of this nation…

I wasn’t the only one; thank God…

Today’s story of outrage over the Bishop of Canterbury’s remarks yesterday, regarding Sharia law, has renewed my faith in free speech and common sense. My hope is that people will see the danger in allowing religious doctrine to dictate or trump civil law. The good thing about this conflict is that it exposes how Islam is not compatible with western values. Those that want to live under Islam cannot accept the fact that in a civil society, civil law must be adhered too. With Islam the belief is that church has no separation from state. The most lethal combination known to the history of man; church as state.

That said, Christian judeo principles have been the guiding principles for the success of western civilization, and that must be respected. The principles followed by Christians and Jews are ones that honor woman, respect individuals, and value freedom. Christians believe in the “Prince of Peace”. A much different leader than the one followed in Islam.

Facts are a stubborn thing. Don’t believe what people say about something, watch how they act. If you do, you will come to the conclusion that the doctrine of Islam, cannot be allowed to be carried through if western civilization wants to survive. It is nice to see the argument brought to the surface in Britain. It is not too late to stop this movement…

Britain adopting Sharia Law; God help the UK and US…

The Archbishop of Canterbury has gone insane! Women of the world beware. Stay away from the UK! This article is so disturbing that I am shaking as I write this. There is no fundamentally greater threat than the Islamic religion and particularly Sharia law to the world as we know it!

Islam is not a “religion of peace” for so many reasons. Please visit Conservative Beach Girl’s website to review the many documented cases of Islamic abuse of the western system as well as woman’s rights around the world, including right here in the US. Everyone needs to get their heads out of the sand here, and do your homework about Islam.

If you think I’m irrational about this, you have not dug deep enough into Islam. Please visit the Beach Girl’s website often, and you too will know how dangerous the political movement of Islam is to the future of woman, western civilization, and your freedom…

Mormons, Evangelicals, and Bigots…

There is a lot of talk about Romney’s upcoming speech, supposedly focusing on the Mormon religion he has been a member of all of his life. There is a discomfort in the Evangelical community about having a Mormon in the White House. But is that bigotry?

I was listening to Hugh Hewitt’s radio program the other day, and a caller, obviously a Christian, tried to explain to Hugh why he was uncomfortable with voting for Mitt, based on him being a practicing Mormon. Hugh called him a bigot. He likened it to not voting for Obama because he is black. Wrong, wrong, wrong, and a faulty comparison; here’s why. What religion you follow and practice is a choice of free will, and says something about your character; being black, white, Hispanic, Asian, or any race, is what you are born into and you have no choice. Bill Clinton cannot choose to be black even though he has tried.

So as a voter, if I evaluate the Mormon religion, the Muslim religion, and Scientology, and I come to the conclusion that to choose that religion is a flaw in character; that is not bigotry. It is a reflection of someone’s ability to make good judgments. It doesn’t mean I will not respect the people that choose to follow a particular religion, it only means in my judgment; that is a bad judgment. Now I like Mitt and would vote for him over any of the democratic choices in a heartbeat, but I understand where that caller, and many others like him, are coming from, and it is not bigotry.

I would vote for a black president in a minute if they had the values and character I find important in a leader. I would not vote for a Muslim or Scientologist because in my evaluation of those “religions”, they do not share the fundamental beliefs that I believe are important to the future of this country.

Religion has a limited function in our government and that’s the way it should stay, but our foundation is based on Christian and Judeo values, and they are the character of this nation. These values are what have made this country the greatest in the world. I want someone that has an understanding of that character and the history of this nation to represent me, especially our president. That is why the founders put the requirement directly into the constitution that our president must be a citizen born in the US. It doesn’t say this person must be a Christian, but it is a qualifier with the same purpose; an understanding of the values and character of this country.

Mixing religion and politics is emotional and dangerous. But evaluating a person on the religion they choose is not bigotry, it’s a strong indication of their core beliefs. If those beliefs are in conflict with yours, it is appropriate to evaluate that in your decision for choosing a candidate. I am sure many will try to claim Evangelicals as bigots in this election cycle because they are uncomfortable with people of religion, but Evangelicals as a group are not bigots, they are just evaluating the impact a candidate will have on the character of this nation. It is their choice to make. Just a thought…
