We need to start harvesting the vast oil reserves we have here in the US. We need to supplement that with nuclear, coal, natural gas, wind and solar. The more we convert our domestic use to a comprehensive approach, the sooner we can turn the lights off on the Middle East unrest.
Do we really think we are ever going to convince Muslim World that the adoption of freedom and free markets is in their best interest? Maybe, but if freedom is universal we need them to want it and fight for it. The fighting we are seeing now may or may not turn into something other than another dictator or theocracy, but I doubt it. As long as religion is the preferred policy for running their society the less likely freedom will be in the Middle East.
We are there because of oil. We are not there to steal their oil as the left suggests, but to keep it freely flowing. Even if it is managed by an illegal cartel. We are dependent on the free flow of oil and until we break the demand or open up competitive markets we will continue to be shackled with an unclear energy future. Oil is not evil; it is the best fuel for the foreseeable future. We need to drill here at the same time we build an overall comprehensive energy policy. Here in Pueblo Colorado the site permits have been approved to move to the next step of building a new nuclear plant. The environmentalists are out in force but the time has come to put the China Syndrome behind us.
Nuclear fuel has been proven safe all around the globe. Windmills are popping up all across the fruited plain. Natural gas and oil reserves have been discovered to be greater than ever expected. It is time to set ourselves free from the world cartel. A cartel like OPEC would be illegal here in the US so why do we continue to support it in the Mid East? Let the rest of the world be beholden to the people that hate us. We don’t need them if we plan properly.
If we had a president and leadership in congress we would be well on our way to energy independence. I don’t begrudge the president for going golfing occasionally but he doesn’t even seem to care that gas is about to hit $4 a gallon. Maybe that’s because we as taxpayers are paying to fill up the tanks of Air Force 1 and his limos.
The next election can’t come fast enough. This president is so out of touch with the average American that I suspect that is why he can play golf while we contemplate how we are going to keep paying $100 to fill up our gas tanks. We have the resources to fundamentally change the energy industry for the better. If we only had a president and congress that actually cared about the people…
True knowledge of American history is necessary to insure the future of the America we love… This is an important time in our country's history. We must be wise and measured as we choose our leaders going forward.

Arrogance and Condescension; A Failed Strategy…
The president has been in full campaign mode to demonize the tea party and fuel the fire of racial politics in the run up to the midterm elections. It is sad to watch the office of the president being occupied by someone who does not deserve it. The president is a unique role in our government and no matter what political party is represented there it is the office of the president of the United States.
Black, White, Hispanic, Irish, Jewish, Christian Americans deserve the respect of the president of the United States. He works for all of us. To listen to him target Americans that disagree with him as the “enemy’ is to break the heart of America. This president believes that the founding principles of this nation are the enemy because they keep him from implementing his radical agenda at a pace that would have already destroyed our country. He hates free speech, he demonizes the tea party, he demonizes law enforcement, he demonizes conservative woman, he demonizes Wall Street, he demonizes capitalism, he demonizes individual accountability, and he demonizes our Constitution.
Anyone that can’t see this is blinded by partisan politics. No one cares that Obama is Black, what they care about is the direction he is taking this country. His arrogance and belief that he knows better than the American people is laughable if it wasn’t so dangerous. His condescension is despicable when he says we as Americans don’t understand the “complexity” of the legislation and we need to have “patience” for the effects to set in. Well we are smarter than that and we know what the effects will be if his agenda is implemented.
This election is a referendum on the Obama agenda. We are not racist, homophobic, anti-immigrant, or angry. We are too smart to let this man destroy the greatest country in the world by drowning us in debt and destroying the economic engine that has made us great; capitalism. Business is not evil and by demonizing the business class on a regular basis is to not understand America. Big government is evil and all you have to do is look at the generations of dependent inner city Americans to support that premise. A limited government is coming one way or the other. If the republicans fail to trim the fat those responsible will be defeated in 2012, and be replaced with individuals willing to reign in spending.
We know what we’re doing and we will punish those at the ballot box that believe they know better. This president has disgraced the office and needs to take a lesson from the tea party patriots and read the constitution. If the president doesn’t like the Constitution he can move forward with a process to amend it. That is where the changes need to be made not by some unelected Czar or radical left wing group with access to our government apparatus.
There is no better feeling than to watch arrogance and condescension be put in its rightful place. And it isn’t the Oval office…

Our Kid’s Future Will Be Determined in the 2010 Election…
What if the government:
· Took away your ability to parent your children the way you choose?
· Mandated state “volunteerism” for your children?
· Took away 85 - 95% of your income in taxes?
· Decided who you can watch and listen to on TV and Radio?
· Imposed no religious references in any forum, public or private?
· Decided when you would die based on your medical history?
· Confiscated your home, savings, and any material wealth at your death?
· Mandated all of your 401K investments be turned over to the government?
Which one of these would you agree to allow government to do for you?
· Raise your children?
· Guarantee a livable income?
· Provide your healthcare?
· Limit your political opinion?
· Authorize your religious beliefs?
· Provide public housing for your family?
In 2010 most of these questions that may seem a bit extreme to many of you, is the direction the country is being taken. Your kids are about to lose the future guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. What is it going to take to get you involved? What rights are you willing to give up for all of this government largesse? What is our freedom worth?
I can hardly keep myself from screaming some days as I watch Americans go on with their day ignoring the trampling of our rights and freedom that is taking place right under our nose. There is no excuse to stand on the sidelines anymore. We are at a critical juncture in the 2010 election that will determine if we are willing to accept policies that end the American Dream for us and our kids, or we elect candidates that support the policies that have made this country the envy of the world; our constitutional republic.
It is your choice. You can continue to ignore the world and let it happen or you can fight for your kid’s future. I am fighting for my kid’s future. Will you please join me?

Why Caroline Kennedy’s Lack of Political Experience Matters…
As you know if you follow this Blog, I don’t believe political experience is a virtue. In most cases it seems exactly the opposite, the more experience the less common sense the politician seems to have. But in the case of Caroline Kennedy and the open NY Senate seat experience does matter and here’s why.
It is an appointment outside of the normal voting process. She believes that she is entitled because her family has been involved in politics for years. They have also been boot legers so I guess she would be a good appointment for Chairman of the ATF committee but I digress.
If she were making her case to the voters rather than the inside NY political machine her experience would be on display for the voters to decide. In that case I would say experience or lack thereof would be for the voters to consider and make their choice. As a matter of fact, I believe whenever there is an open Federal seat there should be an election by the people of that State or district.
Governor appointments are political calculations with a complete disregard for the citizens those appointments impact. Costly yes, but what is the cost of a true representative democracy worth?
So in the case of the NY Senate appointment it is safe to say it will be a democrat that fills the seat. Elections do have consequences after all. But if I were Governor I would offer up a couple of strong democrat and republican candidates and poll the voters of NY as to their preference. It will at least have the appearance of some sense of democracy although very flawed. How about someone that has a background in running the finances of a private for profit business? Agahst the thought of real experience not political hackdom!
The appointment process is an extremely flawed process when it is for seats that are normally filled by elections. The one caveat I would add to the State constitution is the clause; if you obtain a Federal senate or house seat through the appointment process, you are not eligible to run for that seat in the election for that seat for a minimum of two terms. That would keep the real political hacks on the sidelines and we may just end up with some competent people in congress by accident. Just a thought…

I can only hope…
I can only hope…
That Americans go to the polls understanding that elections have consequences:
· That change is not always for the positive
· That power and a lack of experience is a dangerous combination
· That the constitution has given us our prosperity, freedom, and ability to be uninformed
· That judges are like tyrants if not harnessed by the constitution
· That the constitution is not a living document; it is what rules are to a game, defined and for a purpose
· That speaking is a great skill for a politician but honesty and integrity is not negotiable
· That policies and lack thereof have consequences, just remember September 11th
· That our military deserves our thanks not dismissive condemnation
· That the UN, France, Germany, and the rest of the world can kiss our …
· That God is not a 4 letter word; anywhere
· That guns are the only insurance to a free society; just read our or any history
· That freedom is not free
· That being tortured by the enemy, fighting for this country, is a real qualification to be considered
· That hanging out with terrorists and America haters; is a real consideration
· That America as we know it is not guaranteed for the future
