The New Year is Here…

And we are about to get our first glimpse into our choices for president. Iowa will vote soon and all eyes will be on her. Peggy Noonan has a good analysis here of the implications of Iowa’s choices. I will not make any predictions but I do have some hopes.

On the democratic side I would like to see Hillary lose; period. On the republican side I would be fine with Mitt, John McCain, and Rudy winning in Iowa. I do not like Huckabee.

It is the start of a roller coaster year and it will take many turns. It will be very telling to see where the American people want our country to go. I hope it is in the right direction…

Time Magazine Makes a Huge Mistake!

To designate Vladimir Putin as man of the year over General Petraeus, is an indication of how far out of touch the mainstream media is with the values of our country. They chose him because he brought “stability and renewed impact” to Russia. I guess a good dictator that instills “stability” through murder, terror, and intimidation is more deserving than a man that is offering hope, freedom, and democracy to a country just liberated from a murderous dictator. Ah! The good old days. If only we had more dictators to instill stability.

If only we could have the same stability here. That damn democracy thing is just standing in the way of a stable world. If only Vladimir would change his address to live in say, San Francisco, he could help us implement stability here in the good old US of A. How I long for a day when we no longer have to worry about speaking out against evil because in stable countries, you’re not allowed to do so. Some day maybe we too could have a man of the year like Vladimir.

I haven’t bought a Time magazine in I can’t remember how long. But I can tell you this; I never will again… Pathetic and disgusting is what it is. They should be shut down! Wait that only happens in “stable” countries, for now we are still a democracy; Thank GOD!

Huckabee = Increased Illegal Immigration

Michelle Malkin points out the true Mike Hackabee, and he is just like the others that do not understand the American people’s desire to secure our borders. He is smooth talking, and I have to say he can say the right things with a tinge of humor, but buyer beware. His true actions as Governor are ones I would not support. He is a big government guy with a place in his heart for illegal immigrants, at the same time turning his back on American families. He supported the “Dream Act” which forces American parents to pay for the subsidies for illegal’s to go to in-state colleges.

He is open borders just like George Bush. So if you think George Bush has done a good job on the border, you will love Mike Huckabee. I know people can change over time, but not enough time has passed. We have Mitt and Fred to choose from now if the borders matter to you. They do for me. We will see what the rest of America thinks soon enough…

Doug Lamborn; was it a Coors beer you were drinking?

Doug Lamborn, fresh off of trying to get Pike’s Peak designated a National Monument, is “caught” hob knobbing with lobbyists and drinking all the free beer he could, I’m sure. I just hope he was at least drinking our home brew, Coors. (He is seen twice. Be patient, he is near the end of a very short video clip)

Let me state right here right now, when I run again for congress in 2008, I will pledge to drink only Coors beer, but I will not attend one lobbyist event if elected to congress. I will be spending my time in congress fighting for congressional reforms; sober. One of them will be to reduce the influence of money in congress. I am all for attending constituent events in district 5, but events that are designed to listen and present issues to the constituents.

I will not launch personal attacks on Doug once I announce, but I have to say here and now, he is embarrassing. He is the stereo typical politician and he will be voted out if I have anything to do with it. But my guess is he will have a hard time getting past the 08 republican primary. The good news for Doug is he will have plenty of time to drown his sorrows in beer. Just a thought…

Sending a Thought and Thanks…

I mailed a small Christmas package to my cousin Kathleen in Iraq today that my family put together, and it got me thinking. It got me thinking about how good we have it here because we have people like my cousin Kathleen, spending their holiday in Iraq, Afghanistan, and all around the world, protecting our God given freedoms. They often don’t see what they do the same way
I do, but I thank God every day for people like Kathleen.

Many soldiers like Kathleen are not political, and don’t equate what they do with the political landscape, but if it wasn’t for our soldiers protecting our liberties around the world, politics would be different. These soldiers allow us to be free from the tyranny of foreign governments, they allow us to bargain from a position of strength, and they allow us to argue our points without the threat of interference from those that might wish to take advantage of our differences. They are the confidence we hold when we choose to confront the evil of our world. It is because of them, we are respected around the world no matter what their critics say. Without our troops, the evil of this world would have no boundary.

Without these soldiers we risk a different and cruel world. Our soldiers show the rest of the world what it is to truly be American; selfless, compassionate, freedom loving, and the beacon of hope for all suppressed people of the world. Sometimes I wish the world would show more appreciation. I have to believe deep down the people that have been freed from the likes of Saddam, and the Taliban, do appreciate our efforts. To think otherwise would be too depressing.

So thank you Kathleen, thank you to all the soldiers and their families during this Christmas season, and every day, for keeping me and my family safe. I thank you for representing us around the world with such dedication and honor. And thank you Kathleen for teaching my children how important it is to make sacrifices for the freedom they enjoy. They love writing to you, and it fills my heart that they have such a wonderful pen pal and role model.

I hope everyone writes a letter to our troops to show them they are not alone. We are thinking of you here, over there, and we pray for your safety. God Bless…

House Democrats who Slammed Christianity and Supported Islam...

Nine Democrats voted against the Christmas resolution. They are: Rep. Gary Ackerman (N.Y.), Rep. Yvette Clarke (N.Y.), Rep. Diane DeGette (Colo.), Rep. Alcee Hastings (Fla.), Rep. Barbara Lee (Calif.), Rep. Jim McDermott (Wash.), Rep. Robert Scott (Va.), Rep. Pete Stark (Calif.) and Rep. Lynn Woolsey (Calif.).

Another nine Democrats chose to vote “present.” They are: Rep. Hon Conyers (Mich.), Rep. Barney Frank (Mass.), Rep. Rush Holt (N.Y.), Rep. Jan Schakowsky (Ill.), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), Rep. Peter Welch (Vt.) and Rep. John Yarmuth (Ky.)

Each of them supported the Ramadan resolution except for Rep. Lee, who did not vote.

Anyone that lives in these districts beware. These are the people who will sell out America for political correctness. We do not need to recognize Islam in this country. Islam has no founding in this great nation. It is a threat to this nation and we must resist all efforts to allow this religion any standing within our government or public awareness. It is a political movement not a religion. It is certainly not a “religion of peace”. Wake up and throw these guys out before it’s too late…

Do We Want Bill In The White House Again?

You really have to ask yourself the question; do we need Bill Clinton back in the White House? I have had many a conversation with my children explaining the bad behavior of Bill Clinton, and why character matters in a leader. Charisma is not enough; it is the character of a person that makes a great leader.

The times were different when Bill occupied the White House in the 90’s. We were in the internet revolution, and few were paying attention to the world around us; especially Bill. He ignored the threat of terror, the bubble of the stock market, the crooks at the helms of corporations like Global Crossing, all the while “entertaining” interns in the Oval Office. It was like the roaring 20’s all over again. Mean while lone voices in the wilderness, mostly conservatives, were trying to bring attention to the important issues of the day. It was not enough to say I told you so, because this was our country and our future being handled by this pathological personality.

Hillary was right there doing her best to influence policy. She now touts that as her “experience”, but what an experience it was. She attempted to ruin our healthcare system by socializing it. The people rejected it, and therefore rejected Hillary. If we recall her experience, she was conducting secret meetings, handpicking committees and panels from her stable of lackey’s, and doing her best to dictate to the American people what was best for their health. One small sample of the “experience” she will bring back to the White House.

But there is so much more. They are one of the most “connected” families in America with some really “questionable” connections. I for one am Clintoned out. We have had enough Clinton’s, Bush’s, Kennedy’s, and Cuomo’s for ten life times. Let’s start electing the “real” people of this country. Let’s stop electing people because we recognize their name or because they have “celebrity” status. Let’s start electing real leaders. Let’s send the Clinton’s packing. Please…

Oprah and the political process...

Oprah is supporting Barrack Obama, and recently stumped for him in South Carolina, attracting 30,000 spectators. But were they there for political reasons or because of the ”O” factor? Politics is a funny business, and star power rarely translates into votes. People that tend to vote in primaries are a “special” breed. I am one of them. I don’t give a hoot who Oprah endorses, or Susan Sarandon, or Julia Roberts endorses, I vote for the candidate that appeals to me and me only.

Poll after poll suggests, people that are likely to vote, and even more likely to vote in a primary, are not impacted by celebrity or other politician’s endorsements. They do have an impact on the “casual” voter, but they often don’t vote, and they rarely vote in primaries. So did Oprah expose Barrack to an audience he may not have had before? Probably. But unless Oprah is expected to show up at every polling place in every state, during every primary, it probably won’t be a huge impact.

Besides, the Clinton “machine” will begin calling in the favors and dolling out the dollars to get their “supporters” to start doing the “hard” work of destroying Obama, twisting the arms of party loyalists, and calling in the “chits” they have divvied out over the years. That is what will bring in the votes. Sad but true…

O’Reilly Uses Kid Gloves with Racist Sharpton…

Al Sharpton is a racist. He is the textbook definition of how a true racist sees the world. Al Sharpton takes every opportunity to define every issue through racial glasses. Bill O’Reilly is not stupid but he gave him a huge pass the other night on his show, and actually legitimized the views of the anti white, anti Semitic “minister”.

He had Sharpton on as his guest to discuss Don Imus’ return to radio after being run off the air by the likes of Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Everyone knows the incident and Imus apologized a gazillion times for remarks that were inappropriate, not unusual for him, but directed toward the Rutgers’s woman’s basketball team who did not deserve the comment made about them. Imus has been an idiot in my eyes well before this incident. But what irked me was the hypocrisy and double standard when talking about Al Sharpton’s legitimacy in this debate.

Sharpton has a history of enflamed rhetoric against the police, usually white police, and he is on the record with anti white rhetoric in many of his “speeches”, and he was responsible for the racial tensions of the Tawana Brawley case. He accused 6 white men, some of them police officers with the rape of a black woman that was later revealed as a hoax.

In 1991 he incited a riot by claiming a Jewish man was responsible for killing a black kid in Harlem purposely when it was an accident. An innocent Hasidic Jew walking by the “protest” was stabbed to death because of Sharpton’s actions.

In 1995 Sharpton accused another Jewish man of raising the rent on a black tenant to “allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business." Because of Sharpton’s rhetoric and action “ On Dec. 8, one of the protesters bursts into Freddy's, shoots four employees point-blank, then sets the store on fire. Seven employees die in the inferno.”

And the list goes on. It is long and ugly. He is to the black race what the Klu Klux Klan is to the white race, only given credibility. And that’s where my outrage comes in toward O’Reilly. O’Reilly said to Sharpton about the Imus issue” you just want to let the media know where the line of decency is with the Imus situation, that’s a legitimate message and I agree with you”. (These words are not verbatim but really, really close)

So here we have the highest profile racist, on the highest rated program on cable, being given a free pass and credibility as a spokesman for all black people. God help us is all I can say. This man is vile and poisonous to our country. He lives in the past and he thrives on division. He should not have a stage; he should be in a cell. O’Reilly blew it big time…

Mormons, Evangelicals, and Bigots…

There is a lot of talk about Romney’s upcoming speech, supposedly focusing on the Mormon religion he has been a member of all of his life. There is a discomfort in the Evangelical community about having a Mormon in the White House. But is that bigotry?

I was listening to Hugh Hewitt’s radio program the other day, and a caller, obviously a Christian, tried to explain to Hugh why he was uncomfortable with voting for Mitt, based on him being a practicing Mormon. Hugh called him a bigot. He likened it to not voting for Obama because he is black. Wrong, wrong, wrong, and a faulty comparison; here’s why. What religion you follow and practice is a choice of free will, and says something about your character; being black, white, Hispanic, Asian, or any race, is what you are born into and you have no choice. Bill Clinton cannot choose to be black even though he has tried.

So as a voter, if I evaluate the Mormon religion, the Muslim religion, and Scientology, and I come to the conclusion that to choose that religion is a flaw in character; that is not bigotry. It is a reflection of someone’s ability to make good judgments. It doesn’t mean I will not respect the people that choose to follow a particular religion, it only means in my judgment; that is a bad judgment. Now I like Mitt and would vote for him over any of the democratic choices in a heartbeat, but I understand where that caller, and many others like him, are coming from, and it is not bigotry.

I would vote for a black president in a minute if they had the values and character I find important in a leader. I would not vote for a Muslim or Scientologist because in my evaluation of those “religions”, they do not share the fundamental beliefs that I believe are important to the future of this country.

Religion has a limited function in our government and that’s the way it should stay, but our foundation is based on Christian and Judeo values, and they are the character of this nation. These values are what have made this country the greatest in the world. I want someone that has an understanding of that character and the history of this nation to represent me, especially our president. That is why the founders put the requirement directly into the constitution that our president must be a citizen born in the US. It doesn’t say this person must be a Christian, but it is a qualifier with the same purpose; an understanding of the values and character of this country.

Mixing religion and politics is emotional and dangerous. But evaluating a person on the religion they choose is not bigotry, it’s a strong indication of their core beliefs. If those beliefs are in conflict with yours, it is appropriate to evaluate that in your decision for choosing a candidate. I am sure many will try to claim Evangelicals as bigots in this election cycle because they are uncomfortable with people of religion, but Evangelicals as a group are not bigots, they are just evaluating the impact a candidate will have on the character of this nation. It is their choice to make. Just a thought…

Colorado Pols Make My Point About the Party System…

Colorado Pols is a great web site if you want to find out what the “insiders” of politics here in Colorado are thinking. I review it often. My name was actually mentioned there under the post; “El Paso Co. Repubs indicating Rayburn and Lamborn will petition on ballot, by-passing 5th CD caucus” (Nice to see someone remembered my name). For my many out of state viewers, I will not address the “inside” issues here, but rather the larger impact of the party selection process for candidates, and why it has “poisoned” the political process of our nation.

The parties are giving us candidates that do not reflect the need of our electorate because the process continues to be a contest in promising support to specific powerful special interest groups in the Republican Party (RP). For example; the Right to Life groups are very influential in the party, and they want a candidate like Doug Lamborn because basically that is Doug’s issue, and it guarantees their agenda moves forward. Special interests want people they can “influence and control”. The same thing goes on in the Democratic Party, these one issue groups are wielding disproportionate power over the candidate selection process within the parties. It is “poison” for the political system at large.

What we have at the national level is 535 Doug Lamborns, and the interest parties they represent, with power and influence over the national agenda that does not fit the priorities we must face as a nation. I am not saying abortion is not an important issue, it is, what I am saying is we are watching our borders being overwhelmed by people we know nothing about, entering our country illegally, a Social Security system heading for bankruptcy; fast, politicians threatening to have the government take over our healthcare decisions, and a federal budget that is so out of control most people have given up on any concept of making cuts and fighting for efficiency. The parties have “Balkanized” the issues without anyone stepping back and looking at how all these issues together impact the country as a whole. That would be called leadership.

So what we have is a “pawn”, Doug Lamborn, promoting the pro life stance without any effort to impact the larger issues that important to this nation. He is being challenged in the process by two other republicans but the focus should not be which candidate is best for the party faithful, it should be about who is the best candidate for the district and the country. The party system has lost site of the big picture. That is why I am petitioning on as an unaffiliated candidate this year.

Someone has to step in here and be a leader for the big picture. I am sure the “insiders” at the Colorado Polls will disagree, but I am betting the public at large may think differently. Just a thought, just a hope…

This is Not Immigration, It’s An Invasion!

Immigration, both legal and illegal reached 37.9 MILLION in 2007! One in three is estimated to be illegal. If I am doing the math correctly that is 12 MILLION illegal’s in 2007 alone.

"The last seven years have been the highest period of immigration in American
history," the report said. "Immigrants and their young children (under 18) now
account for one-fifth of the school-age population, one-fourth of those in
poverty and nearly one-third of those without health insurance."
Immigration
accounts for nearly all of the national increase in public school enrollment
over the past two decades, the report said. In 2007, there were 10.8 million
school-age children from immigrant families in the United States — about one in
five of the nation's school-age kids.

No wonder our schools are not improving. When you have this many kids that can’t speak English or have come from countries where education is as poor as Mexico’s, how does this impact the citizens of our country that have no choice but to educate their kids in these schools? Not to mention the costs to the taxpayers. That is why tracking the immigrants’ coming to this country is so important. The system is being overwhelmed by the number of uneducated people entering the country. I ask you; if your kid’s school was falling behind because of this issue, would you accept it, or change it? If they were showing up in the ritzy suburbs of NY or LA instead of the poor sections of the country, would the response be different?

We will sink under the weight of this failure to secure our border. This is an invasion that needs the resources of the US Military. We need to station our Military on the border until the fence is complete. Using the military on the border is justified because we are under invasion from, terrorists, drug cartels, criminals, all from foreign countries. The expense is minimal compared to the costs of our education systems, healthcare systems, and our freedom.

It is time to stop pandering to the liberal interest groups that believe that our nation’s borders are discriminatory. We are one nation under God, unless we can’t protect our border. Without a border there is no nation. God is already under assault and being removed from our culture. When will we wake up? God help us…

Socialism is an abject failure…

As the riots continue in the suburbs of France, the effects of socialism are on display for all to learn from; again. I am baffled by our liberal and elite politicians continued efforts to take us down a path of socialized; healthcare, retirement, education, energy, etc… There is this “utopia” that these so called educated folks see that can only be obtained by creating this socialistic model that drives to create; fairness, sameness, mediocrity, and collectivism.

But the evidence and history lessons are clear on all attempts to implement socialism in any aspect of life, and history tells us socialism always ends in failure. It is so plain to see in my eyes, that anytime you try to go against human “instinct” you will fail. Humans are competitive by nature, it is a survival instinct. We know the strong survive and in order to be strong you can only count on yourself to create strength. No one else will do that for you because we know through instinct, that if someone is stronger, they pose a threat. So as the elites try to move forward the idea of socialism, they are actually creating strength for themselves. Good for them, bad for us. We know that so we push back when we realize what they are trying to do. This is the stuff college class material is made of, but in the real world we know it is true.

Socialism is sold as being fair to all but in reality it is the most unfair system of all. What is fair about some people doing the work and everyone shares their labor? Who decides who will work and who gets to sit on their butts to collect the fruits of the labor? Why do I have to pay for your housing and health when you are completely capable of providing it for yourself?

Socialism has to be forced on the people; therefore there is always resentment toward the people applying the force. For socialism to work, someone is always taken advantage of by the collective group. We see it in our Social Security system. The young people of this country are being forced to give the elderly a large percentage of their pay so the elderly can drive around in their campers coast to coast while the young go to work every day to pay for this luxury. The elderly think they have paid their way but most elderly have long taken what they have put into the system and would be surprised at the numbers. Social Security has created an us and them, young vs. old, have vs. have not’s.

Instead of having people put money into their own retirement accounts, SS puts the money in a big pool (socialism always is a big “pool”) where the only criteria to get it is age. So if you are a millionaire and have all the money you would ever need, you still get SS. It cultivates a, “it’s my money I paid into it” mentality (which is exactly why socialism doesn’t work), which causes resentment and anger amongst the young and old, but that is always the result of socialist programs. There is always resentment and anger. And that anger always ends up dividing the people and results in a resentment of the government running the program.

So as France deals with the riots we need to take another lesson from them and remind our politicians that market based programs are always the best. We do not need people standing around unemployed and expecting benefits they have not earned. It leads to anger, resentment, and violence. The only way to provide a good life for our citizens is to give them the ability to create their own. Just a thought…

Terrorists Target Military Base and No One Seems to Care…

This story received scant coverage in the major media for two reasons; the mainstream media knows these stories hurt democratic and liberal candidates, and it highlights the extreme danger we face every day from our lack of enforcement on the southern border with Mexico.

This terrorist plot was revealed from sources in a Mexican drug cartel and is considered credible. It reveals how dangerous the job of border security is and reveals the failures of the Bush administration and our congress to take this issue seriously. There is a war on our southern border and the stakes are high. We have drugs and terrorists crossing with sophisticated weapons and we go about our merry business without even a flinch of the eye.

As many border security advocates have been stating; our southern border is a military zone and needs the attention we would give to it if we found out tomorrow Chinese troops were crossing the border, and holding the citizens of Laredo Texas captive. The people crossing our border are not just coming to pick our crops and steal our jobs; we have terrorists and drug cartels hauling in weapons to attack our military bases and security personnel. The targeted base in Arizona trains our men and women in counter terrorism, and is a high value target for any terrorist organization or anti American group to take down.

As we are being attacked from the border, at the same time we have our financial institutions mis-managing our finances and reaching out to Middle Eastern oil rich countries to bail them out from their stupid decisions. Here is an excerpt from the story;

“Citigroup Inc., the biggest U.S. bank by assets, will receive a $7.5 billion cash infusion from Abu Dhabi to replenish capital after record mortgage losses wiped out almost half its market value”.

Why is Citigroup in trouble? Because they lent money to people that they shouldn’t have. They gave out interest only loans like candy for the past 4 years and now they are in a situation where these people can’t pay back the money. Surprise, surprise, you don’t need a Harvard business degree to see the problem with the current subprime market crisis. People were “encouraged” to borrow money they couldn’t afford, and now these banks are scrambling to keep the entire capital market from going belly up. So because of their greed and stupidity, we are being leveraged by countries that one day, mark my words, will have influence on our policy that will not be good for us. Just like the Chinese government, where we should be cutting off trade because of their human, and environmental policies, we can’t because they hold so much of our debt. Our debt is the product of greedy companies and stupid politicians.

So as we head into this holiday shopping season, keep in mind how being debt free is really the core of your personal freedom. When you owe people nothing, you control your destiny. When you are mortgaged to the hilt, you control nothing. Don’t do what our politicians and business leaders have done to this country; spend wisely and keep an eye out for the terrorists amongst us. Someone has to…

Day of Reckoning?

Pat Buchanan has a new book out, Day of Reckoning: “How Hubris, Ideology and Greed Are Tearing America Apart”. I am not so pessimistic because I believe when we decide to come together as a nation, anything is possible. We have proved that many times in our short history as a nation. The problem is most Americans are not as convinced it is at the breaking point, yet. Americans can sense it is close but I don’t believe most of us have given up as Pat suggests. When we have to argue that English should be our national language, and that it is OK to have a moment of silence, or God forbid a prayer at a HS football game, or that building a fence is not “racist”, our collective head looks up and says; what has happened here?

I believe we are at a point where more Americans are taking notice and that is a good thing. The most recent example was the illegal immigration debate. Our reluctance to accept the answer from our politicians, showed how we still control the power to influence the direction of this country. We stopped that legislation and we are slowly getting our border fence built.

I think the country is also ready to entertain term limits. Americans have seen how longevity in office is directly correlated to a lack of understanding of the people they represent. These “career” politicians are more endeared to the lobbyists than the voters. We are ready to give others a chance since the quality of the current political crop has fallen to the barely acceptable category of performance.

Pat makes a lot of great points in his book about how we are on some dangerous paths in this country but I disagree that it is inevitable we will destroy ourselves. When the people do wake up, and I believe 2008 will see this awakening, we as voters will make the corrections needed to turn this country around. Our politicians have forgotten what made America great but we the people haven’t. We want our country back and we are going to get it; one way or the other.

I see a bright future because I believe we still have a majority of people that hold traditional American values. They will vote in 2008 and we will see a huge change and it will be for the better; I hope…

Amnesty for all Illegal’s over one good deed?

So there you have it (Illegal Immigrant Rescues Boy in Desert). One good deed by an illegal immigrant and we should just let them all in! It doesn’t matter that 20% of our prisoners are illegal immigrants, or that hundreds of innocent citizens are run down by drunken driving illegal immigrants, or our healthcare and education systems are sinking under the weight of illegal immigration, or that 90% of the drugs in our country cross our southern border; no, let’s forgive all because of this one good deed. Open the gates and stop the fences!

Funny how this one incident is touted but the thousands of true disturbing stories of the impact of illegal’s are buried. It is nice that this guy stood by with this kid until help arrived. He deserves thanks and sent right back to Mexico…

In other news; Democrats are really the party of the rich… This story tells you who the democrats really work for and it isn’t the “working poor” (neither are the republicans by the way; and giving away "stuff' doesn't help. Remember Jesus; teach them to fish...). That is just their battle cry to hide the fact that they are both the party of the rich. I hate class warfare but I couldn’t help posting this when I saw the story. The opportunities in this country give us hope we too can pursue our passion. After all, that is how most people become “rich”. And money is not the only criteria for being rich. I am a millionaire in my eyes because I have my health, an awesome family and group of friends, and endless opportunity.

You may be rich as well. Look around, you might be surprised. Just a couple of thoughts…

Can We Just Be Thankful?

The news is depressing, always finding the worst in our society. Often it feels that we live among nothing but criminals, perverts, and malcontents when we read the headlines in our newspapers or watch our television news. But we know better. Good news seems to mean no news to the people running our national media, so we will have to recognize some of it here.

· Thank you to my friends and family for accepting me for who I am. Because of you I always try to do better.

· Thank you to our troops who have now given hope to the people of Iraq, and giving them a reason to dream about their future. Because of our military in Iraq, like my cousin Kathleen, the good news they are creating, although ignored by our national media, is showing the world what American’s treasure; freedom for all. Thank you again…

· Thank you to all of the Bloggers out there that are seeking the truth and balancing the power of our power hungry politicians. You are making a difference in our political system so keep it up!

· Thank you to all of the wonderful people that have adopted a child and given them hope. You have given a gift that will keep on giving.

· Thank you everyone that knows that we as American’s have a place in our hearts for all of the people in this world. Although we can’t allow everyone to live here in the US, we do our best to help others create a political system like ours to give them hope in their own countries. We are good people and we know it. Thank you to my fellow American’s for being who you are…

· I am so thankful to be an American, a friend, a father, a husband, a son, a co worker, and blessed by God.

God Bless you, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with all of the people you love. We all have so much to be thankful for; and I am thankful for that too…

Is this freedom?

A “Blue Ribbon Commission” has recommended that the state of Colorado “require residents to purchase some sort of coverage” for healthcare insurance… These are the same state bureaucrats that think forcing people to show ID to vote is equivalent to a “poll tax”, and a barrier to casting a vote. Hypocrisy is standard operating procedure in any government bureaucracy.

First of all, insurance is not the issue; it is the issue of access to healthcare that needs to be in the fore front of the debate. The premise that we need insurance is what I argue is a false premise when we are talking about routine medical treatment. Insurance should only be discussed in the argument for “catastrophic” or beyond the “normal’ healthcare services we need access to. Based on actuarial tables, this insurance would be much more affordable. But that is not the issue here.

Why force people to pay for insurance they may not use? Why can’t I pay cash when I go to the doctor? What if I choose as an individual that the risk to cost ratio is too high, and I want to risk not paying the $300 a month for an insurance premium I may never use? When did we decide government should decide what is in our best interest? Should we allow the government to decide what car we drive? The Grocery store we use? What retailer’s we can buy our goods from? Why not just give bureaucrats the power to make all the decisions in our lives? Healthcare choices are no different. As I always say; if a service is unusually expensive, it is because the government has a hand in it. Usually through the arm of regulatory power.

When will it stop? The supporters of government run healthcare always tout the “one-payer” system as the way to increase efficiency in the system. They are right; it should be one payer for healthcare and that is the consumer. Just like we choose our landscaper, plumber, television set, and food, we need to shop for our doctor. We should not base that decision on our healthcare premium but rather base it on the quality and cost of the doctor providing the service. Just a thought…

Approval Rating; Congress 20% vs. Bush 32%

Is it any wonder the approval ratings are where they are when you look at the people that occupy the offices in those great halls of congress? It is mostly made up of people that are not so great. They actually have contempt toward the people they represent. Take the illegal immigration debate for a recent example. Take Nancy Pelosi’s recent comment that the EEOC should sue businesses for requiring employees to speak English. Look at the Social Security disaster that is getting closer and closer. Take anything Kennedy, Waxman, Clinton, Schumer propose for this country, and you see that 20% is actually very high.

Why is it that we can’t implement term limits for congress? 8 years for the House and 12 Years for the Senate? Why is it OK for the President and not the congress? I have done some anecdotal research, and I have concluded there is a direct correlation between the length of time a member serves in congress, and there likelihood of disregarding the will of their constituency. The longer politicians are in office, the more likely they lose their ability to understand, or the will to protect, the true intentions of our founders and the constitution. The more likely they are to hold a minority opinion on any issue important to the American public.

We must take the opportunity to make our voices heard in the 2008 election. We must have the courage to send a message to both parties that we are done with the lack of leadership and understanding of what the real problems are, and the right solutions to correct the problems. We must fix the foundation before we rebuild the house. We must get rid of the current crop of “leaders” and restructure the way the house operates. We must get rid of the incentive to raise money above the incentive to raise he..!

It is time to invest in our future prosperity. The first down payment is to get a new crop of leaders that are willing to shake it up. We need to elect people that will let their actions in congress be their campaign strategy. We must break the quid pro quo of the current funding of elections. We must start from the beginning, and that is only going to happen if you begin to take a stake in your future. I have confidence that the American people will wake up in this election. I may be crazy but I have a feeling…

We Must Protect Our American Culture…

Or we will end up with more of this: “Nancy Pelosi Forces Salvation Army to Hire People That Can’t Speak English.”

This is nuts and is getting ugly. We are being “Balkanized” by the diversity activists in our own country. Diversity for the sake of diversity is dangerous and corrosive to our county’s future. The less we have in common, the more we will see this type of conflict rear its ugly head in every institution in this country. The EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission another useless bureaucracy) is forcing employers to hire people that don’t speak English. You laugh, and it would be funny if it wasn’t true, but it is.

It almost came to fist to cuffs on the House floor between Steny Hoyer and the leader of the Hispanic caucus, Joe Baca. Something as simple as making sure business will not be sued for requiring such a basic skill as speaking English has become a flash point for the bigger issue; English as our national language. It is time to pass a simple law that states; “all government communication will be spoken, written, and printed in English; there will be no requirement of any representative of the government to hire, speak, or print any other language than English; English is the national language of the United States of America”. How refreshing.

This doesn’t mean you can’t speak another language, actually I believe we should teach multiple languages in school, but when it comes to official government business or practical business practices, forcing other languages to be recognized is expensive and divisive. It undermines our American Culture and common method of communication. To say this is not bigotry, it is compassionate. If you can’t speak English you will always be “second” class in this country. You will not get ahead or be able to realize the American dream.

So it is time to say NO to this lunacy. We must fight back now before we find our American Culture so dismantled we don’t recognize it anymore. When we walk into a business in America we expect the people to speak English. If they don’t we take our business elsewhere. What next; suing people for not shopping at a business that has non- English speaking employees? You laugh but just wait if we allow this to continue.

For the sake of our future and the legal immigrants of our country, let’s stop the madness now. Vote out these lunatics and support term limits. Just a thought…

Get ready for a bigger mess in the skies…

The government is about to embark on reducing congestion in the skies in an effort to reduce flight delays this holiday season. The new regulations to improve efficiency include:

1. Legislation to limit storms and weather conditions in the areas where airports reside. Similar to a “Drug Free Zone” around schools, it will be a “Weather Free Zone” around airports.

2. All planes that currently must follow air traffic controller’s directions will be lifted. This will allow pilots to speed up and decide when they think it is safe to land and take off.

3. Planes will be asked to “partner” during take offs and landings. Landing and taking off one by one causes delays. Planes will be asked to pick a partner and land and take off two by two.

4. Regulations that require two pilots on commercial flights will be lifted to allow one pilot to command the plane. This will increase the number of pilots eligible to fly and will help with regulation 3. The retirement age will be lifted to the age of 90.

5. An “Airport Optional” program will be implemented immediately. At a pilots discretion, and if they can get the passengers to agree on the place, pilots will be cleared to land in corn fields, parking lots, and highways with less than 100 cars within visual range. This will improve access to the ground and reduce bottle necks at our limited airport infrastructure.

6. Finally, Airlines willing to invest in parachutes for their customers will be allowed to push people out of the plane at designated “Parachute Airports”. Airlines are not required to inform their passengers of this option but the government strongly suggests that they do.

The thought that this is even a task the government should be involved in is ludicrous. It is the equivalent of trying to fix the traffic problem at the George Washington Bridge in NY, Sagamore Bridge Cape Cod Massachusetts, and the highway system at any major city in the country, by passing a few laws.

The airlines need help but it will take a major restructuring of Air Traffic Control, the building and expansion of our Airport infrastructure, and a government willing to stay the heck out of the arena of private business. Just a thought…

Not to pick on Spitzer but…

He is making it really easy (Spitzer Abandons Amazon Tax). One day after he retreated on the illegal driver’s license, he has now squashed his efforts to impose an internet tax on the online distributor, Amazon.com. He was about to force New Yorker’s to pay 8% sales tax when purchasing from the online retailer. Now I want to be fair here, Spitzer is not the only politician chomping at the bit to get a “piece” of the enormous revenue crossing the internet these days. Politicians all around the country are scheming to get more money from you through this avenue.

This is an issue we must diligently appose because it has HUGE ramifications in so many arenas of the internet. The internet has become the great equalizer of giant corporations and one man operations, like me. Small business has flourished over the internet as has the freedom to compete in the arena of ideas. Start taxing it and we start losing our freedoms rapidly, and we tip the scales of business in favor of large corporations that often have little loyalty to the nation that enabled their opportunity to flourish.

The best thing we can do to stop this train of government infringement and higher taxes is to vote them all out. Radical? I don’t think so. We have a pervasive attitude in government that when the government needs money, they have the right to just take it from the citizens. Instead of looking at ways to be more efficient in government, they take the easy route; increase the amount of money coming in, to perpetuate the inefficiencies they have created. Business can’t operate like that and neither should the government.

We have so much waste and inefficiency in all levels of government that we need to put a stop on all revenue increases to the government. Let them start moving the money around from department to department and reduce the areas that are no longer needed or have redundancy. The government has become a jobs program and it must end now. Our future depends on getting this beast under control, not finding new ways to bilk the citizenry as Spitzer is trying to do.

Let’s wake up and take a chance on some newbie’s to the political arena, like me. Find a candidate in your area that deserves a chance. I believe it is our only chance. Just a thought…

America 1 (Won) – Spitzer 0

The governor of NY, Elliot Spitzer who recently was pushing to give illegal’s drivers licenses, has gone down in flames, utterly defeated, shown the exit, and has heard the wrath of the people. He said he didn’t “need a stethoscope to hear the pulse of NY” on this issue. No kidding! Even in the liberal leaning state of NY, people understand the issue of illegal immigration. They want it stopped and they want it fixed. Giving criminal’s driver’s licenses is not the way to fix it.

I can’t wait for Hillary’s response. She is on the ropes and the other democratic presidential hopefuls can smell the blood. It will be interesting to see if Barack the “I can’t pledge allegiance to America” or “put my hand over my heart during the national anthem” Obama, can capitalize on this issue. It is becoming so clear who these democratic candidates are, and this is good news for America. America needs to know, the current crop of democrats in power is a dangerous group of people to have in power at this time in our history.

There is one point I agree with Spitzer on, and that is his criticism of the federal government ignoring the illegal immigration issue, and leaving it to the states to handle. President Bush has failed in this area. He is an open borders supporter, and he is lucky he is not on the ballot again this year.

But today we celebrate another victory for America, all of us, rank and file democrats, republicans, and independents. They will be back to try again so we must keep our radar on and continue to defeat this lunacy when we see it. This is a critical issue in the upcoming presidential campaign along with National Security, and I believe they go hand in hand. If we as a people could unite on Social Security reform, and reduced government intervention in our lives, like we have on illegal immigration, we’d be on to something here. Just a thought…

A gift to veterans…

On this Veterans Day, I link to this story about the failure at the box office of recent anti Iraq war films. The analysis is off the mark though. They blame the failures of these films on the current confusion around the war, and that the war is still in the headlines every day. Wrong, wrong, the reason these movies have failed is that Americans support their troops, and the mission of bringing freedom to a people oppressed under a dictator. They may not like the speed of the war, but Americans don’t believe the crap that the current Hollywood crop portrays about our troops and military.

The real analysis why these Iraq war movies have failed; they are built on lies. They are lying about why we have gone to Iraq, who our troops are, what the real circumstances are, and that America is the real problem in the world. These people don’t get it; we love our veterans and military. We know that without them we have no foundation to stand. We know that without the American military, the radical sects of the world would be causing havoc everywhere including the US.

So as a gift to our veterans, these Hollywood idiots have shown how ignorant they are to the greatness of our troops, both today and throughout all history. These movies have failed because we love our veterans, and that is a gift to be treasured. God Bless our veterans. Just a thought…

77% of Americans get it right on illegal immigration!

This poll found that democrats, republicans, and independents agree; illegal immigrants should not be able to get a driver license. Many also support giving police the authority to arrest illegals when they find them on routine traffic stops.

And of course, Hillary is still dancing around the issue of illegal’s getting a drivers license. She is asked again about her position and she again avoids the issue which says she is for giving licenses to illegals. This is going to give her trouble in the general election and that is good for this country. Maybe, just maybe democrats will wake up and see her for who she is, and that’s really good for the 77% of Americans that disagree with her. Just a thought…

Words Mean Things…

Never forget; words spoken often after the 9/11 attacks. Never forget; a phrase often used to keep the holocaust memory alive. Never forget; because if we do, we will find ourselves in the same predicaments. That is for sure, because we as human beings have proven, some things never change. Just a thought on Iran, and Islamic terror…

Tomorrow is my birthday…

My birthday wishes:
· My family’s health and well being continues to be well and strong.
· My cousin Kathleen in Iraq stays safe while fighting for our freedom. Please say a prayer for her.
· My fellow citizens realize that America is not the problem, it is the solution.
· Hillary can’t recover from her recent stand on illegal’s getting drivers licenses.
· American’s actually read the Koran and learn what our enemies true intentions are. If that is too much work, visit the Conservative Beach Girl Blog to get daily analysis on the “religion of peace”.
· In 2008 all the current politicians get thrown out of office and we start with real people not career politicians.
· All of my friends and family members pursue their dreams and enjoy the journey.
· Finally, my wish that I can be a better person everyday!

Call us the Unhappy States of America?

This article fries me. It is a “survey” of American’s mood toward the future, a year before the presidential elections, and it is full of pessimism. When will we count our blessings? Blessings are abound in this great nation, and we have people with the gall to focus on the negative.

We are blessed to live in the freest, wealthiest nation in the world, where opportunity waits at every corner for us to jump on it - if we choose. Where if we choose to, we can become anything we want to be regardless of race, creed, or gender. Where we can focus on idiotic things like Britney Spears because we don’t have to worry where our next meal is coming from or the fear of drinking diseased ridden water.

Where every restaurant in our neighborhood has a waiting line to get a seat. The movie theaters are full of kids and adults eating popcorn and drinking soda. Where nearly every home in America has cable. Where every kid has the opportunity to go to school. Where we can worship without fear. Where we can focus on recycling garbage instead of eating it.

I am unhappy that we seem to focus on the negative when we have so much to be thankful for. If you forget about your blessings you may just lose them. So let us thank:
· Our Military in Iraq for spreading hope throughout the world and giving us the opportunity to be miserable as well as happy. May you be safe and come home whole and proud.
· Our children for bringing us love and giving us a reason to create a positive future.
· For our health and the greatest system in the world to attend to us when we are sick.
· To the ingenuity of our business world that creates a better life for all Americans and other people around the world.
· For a system of government that is of the people, by the people, for the people. May we never forget and always remain diligent in protecting the constitution that makes us so great.

So take a moment and really think hard about your life. Count your blessings and if you want to have an even greater life; do it. Because you are an American; there is nothing stopping you, but you. Just a positive thought…

Poor Poor Hillary Clinton; Those Bad Boys…

The democratic field last night took shots at the only female in the crowd, and some are saying it wasn’t fair. I thought she was the strongest woman, smartest woman, and the right woman to lead the nation? This is little league compared to what she would be faced with if, God forbid, she made it to the White House.

The most telling thing about Hillary in last night’s debate was she has no core values to speak of, beyond an obsession with power. Don’t get me wrong, she will try her best to socialize this country and undermine our founding principles the best she can, but she knows she would be voted out after one term if she crosses a line; for now. I shudder to think of her government first and always principals being applied in small increments until one day we wake up and the America we know and love is gone.

So as the “boys” in the democratic party ask her the difficult questions like; do you support driver’s licenses for illegal’s, and she can’t say yes or no, we have the opportunity to understand that another Clinton in the White House is a really bad thing for this nation. I would be more comfortable with picking a president out of the phone book than have Hillary as our president.

I am hoping these questions about Hillary’s “experience”, her desire to socialize our healthcare, take control of how we raise our families, and her inability to answer a question directly, will sink into the voter's mind and give them pause at the ballot box. I don’t expect the democrats voting in the primaries will mind her complete dichotomy from the nation as a whole, but I really hope the general electorate catches on before it is too late. Just a thought…

Governor Spitzer; Do You Think We're Stupid?

Is it too much to ask citizens of this country to have a valid driver’s license? How did it get to the point that needing an ID to operate a vehicle or to vote is an infringement on civil liberties? It defies logic to me. This issue has come to a head in NY where the Governor wants the people in the state of NY and this country illegally, to have the same ID citizens have. Make sense? Of course not, but you have to ask; what is the true motive here?

Is it really to make our roads safer as the Governor suggests? Or is it a more sinister motive of buying votes and creating this “New World Order” that the elites in our country want to move toward? Fortunately the plan has not survived because if it did, New Yorker’s would no longer be able to use their driver’s license as legitimate ID outside of NY. The airlines would have to request a passport or other type of legitimate ID because under the original plan, illegal’s would have the same ID as law abiding citizens.

Now there will be 3 levels of driver’s licenses available in NY, one “super secure” for legitimate citizens, a second tier for “not so super secure”, and one for illegal’s. That’s much simpler than one license for citizen’s period. Leave it to the government to make the process more efficient and simplified. It is programs like this where I wonder; why we don’t have the government running everything we need, like healthcare? It would be so much more efficient to have bureaucrats instead of business people running everything. Don’t you agree?

The good thing here is that illegal’s will not come forward anyway because now you have basically set up a program to identify those illegally living in NY. For example; a cop pulls over a person for speeding and asks for their license. They provide the one stamped with the big ILLEGAL CITIZEN sticker on it and the officer says, come with me. He puts them on a bus back to their country and we have one less illegal in NY and our country. Actually this would be a good idea if the illegal’s were as stupid as the Governor of NY thinks we are! Just a thought…

Send Congress Home; Often...

I was away on business last week so I apologize for the lack of posting to the Blog. Had a chance to see family while there which is always a blessing!

So congress wants to shorten their time in Washington DC and spend more time in their districts? Bravo is what I say. When congress people are in their districts they are hearing from the people. When congress is in DC, they are hearing from the lobbyists. When they are in DC they reach for our wallets. When they are in their districts our wallets are safe(r).

But what stands out to me in this article is the absolute lack of any ability for democrats and republicans to work together. The republicans heckle the dems for wanting shorter hours, and the dems say they had to work so hard because of the republican’s failures. They snip and snipe at each other over something that should be applauded by both sides. I want congress in session for very limited amounts of time, and in their districts for the rest of it. I want them holding meetings in their districts and hearing from the people. I don’t want them at political party functions; I want them at people functions.

I know it may be too much to ask but I will; can we at least agree that we can be confident that when congress is in their districts, the country is a safer place? I don’t know about you, but I think there is great advice in the proverb; keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer. Just a thought…

Hillary’s Thugs in Chinatown…

Hillary Clinton has raised $380,000 from the poorest neighborhoods in Chinatown NY. Make sense? It does if you know how this scam works. Shady characters in these immigrant neighborhoods force illegal residents and others through bullying and extortion to donate money because they know most will not go to the police. Sometimes like Hsu, they donate money in the names of others to get around campaign finance law limits.

This is what our next president (God forbid) considers acceptable behavior? Why is it wherever the Clinton’s go, trouble follows? How come Hillary has had to give back the most campaign donations of any candidate? How come she gets away with saying, oops, even when she is considered by so many (fools) to be the smartest woman in America?

We need to pay attention to all of the details of Hillary’s campaign. There is a lot of unethical behavior going on right under her nose. We must help her weed out all of these marginal practices in her campaign like accepting money that is extorted from vulnerable individuals. She is very busy so we must help her, otherwise she may get herself in trouble. It’s the least we can do…

Politicians Butt Out of Our Business Until You Fix Yours!

We often here our politicians pontificating about how business should operate. They often say there should be quality control initiatives in place to reduce defects. They talk about how business disregards the consumer’s health or safety, and we know they are always telling us how we need to protect the children! So they pass laws to impose their will on business.

They impose wage laws to tell businesses what they should pay, who they should hire, what type of healthcare they should provide to their employees. They consistently are telling business how they should operate and wonder why they can’t compete in the global market place.

If you look at the makeup of our political class and the time they have spent actually running or working in a business, a question comes to mind; what makes them experts in business? Actually, if you take a look at the government, which you could argue is their “business”, you think to yourself; these folks have chutzpa!

Let’s review their “business” operations:

• Social Security is going bankrupt because it is structured as a ponzi scheme.
Any private sector business operating this way would be closed for racketeering.
• Social Services have destroyed the family by focusing their benefits
toward single mothers with children. Their original mission was to help people
that needed temporary assistance while they trained for a new job. The goal was
a helping hand in a time of need. It was not intended to be a way of life. Based
on the “temporary” nature they were set up for, they have failed. Dependency
grows and no one challenges their “operations”??
• Education standards set
by the Federal Government, if followed, would dumb this country down to the
point we couldn’t get a job washing dishes. Lowest common denominator is their
mantra. Public schools in inner cities support the cycle of poverty. Instead of
allowing local communities to handle education, they have built a bureaucracy
that sucks the life out of local education; grade F.
• Healthcare programs
like Medicare and Medicaid are rampant with fraud and inefficiency and they are
lobbying to take over the private sector, Huh! Veterans hospitals are an example
of government’s “expertise” in healthcare; enough said. Well, one more word,
given the choice after suffering a heart attack, do you choose a private
hospital in the US or a government run one in the UK or Canada?
• The
Federal Budget (stop laughing they do have something they call a budget) never
seems to have to be balanced, why is that? I am a Director in a business and let
me tell you, you don’t get away with running deficits like the government and
keep your job.

So you tell me, why would we allow the people that are responsible for running the government like this, to tell business what to do? Do we want to keep sending these people back to Washington with a record like this? The nerve of these politicians! With a record like this I would not be bringing attention to myself but maybe that is how they cover it up. The idea that they think they should be telling business how to operate is appalling. When will we as voters learn? When will we implement term limits? Let’s throw these incompetent people out and start improving the government just like they expect us to improve our businesses. Just a thought…

Doug Lamborn; Pursuing National Monument Status for Pike’s Peak?

OK, as a resident of the 5th Congressional District, of which Doug Lamborn is my representative in congress, I have to wonder, is the issue of making Pike’s Peak a national monument a reflection of Doug Lamborn’s congressional priorities? I look at the pending resolutions in the house against Turkey and its implications for our troops, I look at the illegal immigration problem, housing and credit crunch, I think Social Security (first baby boomer just retired), the assault on our healthcare system by the democrats , and I think; National Monument?

I know he has to multi task and take on the important issues along with the not so important issues, but did Rep Lamborn actually ask anyone if this was an issue or priority? I don’t get it. If I was the representative from the 5th district with 5 military bases and thousands of troops deployed, I would be parked outside Speaker Pelosi’s door arguing the impact of the Turkey resolution, building coalitions of republicans and democrats that have military families in their districts, and do whatever it took to kill the resolution. I would be fighting the Social Security, Healthcare, and National Security issues every day I was in Washington. I assume Doug is? I don’t know, he’s pretty stealth to me, and I look for news of our representatives time in Washington, and I don’t know what he’s doing? Do you?

OK, I admit, I hope to run against him in 2008, but he is a sitting duck in my opinion based on perception. Maybe he has a list of things he has accomplished that I don’t know about but if a National Monument is what he thinks will impress voters, he is mistaken. National Monument status brings along with it Federal “strings”, and jeopardizes one of our greatest tourist attractions, and one of the sources of our water supply; this is a status we can do without.

We need less government intervention not more which is what I thought Doug Lamborn touted in his election campaign. We are in a battle between conflicting approaches to government; democrats that believe government should be involved cradle to grave, and republicans (conservatives) that believe we need to provide a framework for individual people and business to flourish. So I ask, why does Doug want to encourage the Federal Government to start dabbling in the heart of our community? I am confused. I admit that’s not hard to do because I am just common Polk, so maybe someone can enlighten me. Doug has been in government for a long time. Maybe too long, if this is what he thinks is important to pursue. Just a thought…

Have we become idiots?

Link to article

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" effectively have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls
restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

"We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of
Capitol Resource Institute.

"With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of
Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat
the plans. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms.

This is an excerpt from an article and it speaks for itself. Are we idiots?

I listed some recent headlines and I look at these and think; are we idiots? Some of these are silly but some are dead serious. But what does it say about us as a people? I argue; we are idiots!

School wants contraceptives for 11 year olds; no parental
notification...

(Who thinks this is a good idea and is in the best
interest of our youth and overall society?)

San Francisco debates opening a shooting gallery for drug
users...
(Just what drug users need, a sanctioned place to shoot up. Are
we idiots?)

Gore's prize: A fraud on the people...
POLL: 24% Consider Ex-Veep Global Warming Expert... (First;
Global Warming and the peace prize? Second; Gore is an expert? I didn’t know he went to school to be a meteorologist with a degree in climate change? Self proclaimed expert maybe. Are we idiots?)

China's export boom continues to accelerate despite wave of product recalls... (Is cheap all we care about anymore? They enslave their people and children to produce our consumer goods, force birth control on their citizens, but at least the goods are cheap. Are we idiots?)

UPDATE: Sen. Kennedy 'Eating Ice Cream' After Surgery on Blocked
Artery...
(He is an idiot; no question here)

UPDATE: Democratic staffers advised aides to get vaccinated for hepatitis beforeNASCAR... (We keep electing elitist democrats who think the rest of us need to be vaccinated against. Are we idiots?)

Researcher: Humans will wed robots... (Maybe the nude guy is
looking for a mate? I have heard of men getting over friendly with blow up things but robots?)

RICE SAYS IRAN 'LYING' ABOUT NUKES... (Deadly serious issue with the leader of this nation dedicated to our slaughter and destruction and we let him into this country without arresting him and putting him on trial. Are we idiots?)

President Bush; why?

I have been trying my best to find some positive remaining characteristics of George Bush but he makes it harder every day. I am down to the war on terror. As far as illegal immigration goes, he has never been given a chance here. I know fundamentally, as do millions of Americans, that illegal immigration is bad for America in so many ways. I basically left the Republican Party because of the lack of judgment and conviction the party leaders have for our country today. But I was trying to be respectful and objective when discussing the president.

But any glimmer of respect I had is gone. Don’t expect me to become a Bush basher, that will most likely not happen, but I am outraged at his attempt to overturn a death sentence of an illegal alien that brutally raped and murdered two teenage Texas girls (American citizens). His excuse is he does not want to “strain” Mexican American relations. News to George Bush, they are strained already. We don’t want Mexico’s criminals, poor, undereducated, or skilled without going through the proper channels first. We are sick and tired of being called names for putting America first in our foreign policy strategy. I don’t give a rat_ a_ _ about what Mexico or any other country thinks of us. We know who we are and we are good!

Ask the parents of the teenage girls that were murdered by this illegal about the importance of our foreign policy with Mexico. I bet they would help build the wall to keep this scum out. I am and will never be for a “New World Order”. It doesn’t work and it never will unless it is done through force. And don’t be surprised when we keep catching them using these stealth tactics that they may end up turning to force, most likely political force. But be protective of your rights from speech to who we can elect.

Wake up folks. It is not just George Bush, it is the democrat and republican elites that want to undermine the US. Wake up and start kicking these bums out. They think they know better than us. They believe these murders, and believe me there are hundreds if not thousands tied to illegals, are just a price to pay to reach their vision of breaking down our national identity.

George Bush; shame on you for undermining this great nation, and shame on everyone that can’t see the threat of open borders to our future survival. We can’t allow the coddling of cold blooded killers in the name of improved foreign policy. This makes me sick…

Hillary’s giving away your money; again…

It is difficult to keep up with Hillary’s changing proposals and which tax increases she likes the most. Now Hillary has taken the $5000 “baby bond” off the table, presumably because people thought it was a really stupid idea to pay people for having babies. Now she's proposing tax breaks for 401K programs because she doesn’t think we are saving enough. I guess if Hillary doesn’t think we’re doing enough of something she will make sure we do more of that something, one way or the other.

She doesn’t think we go to the doctor enough so she will force people to go, otherwise they risk losing their health insurance. She doesn’t think we are saving enough so now she is going to take money from those that do save and transfer $1000 of their hard earned tax dollars and give them to the people she thinks should save more. All I can say is thank God for Hillary. I would not know what to do in my life if she wasn’t watching out for me; and you.

Pandering is her specialty and she knows best, or does she? Yes baby bond, no baby bond, yes healthcare, no healthcare, yes savings plan, no savings plan. I can’t keep up with the pandering. All I do know is if she is trying to help me, I am running for the hills. She knows nothing about, healthcare, finance, or anything that relates to business or the way we take care of OUR families. When is the last time she wasn’t making her living off the tax payer? That’s right; she knows nothing about the way we live and it shows in her proposals.

She is about power over you. She is Queen Hillary. She knows best. We can’t survive without her. Run for the hills…

Hillary; this is really bad judgment…

Hillary Clinton has hired on Sandy Berger, former National Security Advisor to Bill Clinton, who was convicted and sentenced for stealing highly classified terrorism documents prior to the 9/11 commission hearings, back in 2003, from the National Archives. He received a $50,000 fine and two years probation. It also included a 2 year loss of his security clearance. A mere slap on the hand if you think about what would have happened to someone else who was caught doing the same thing. Most people in the know have speculated he destroyed documents that would have cast the Clinton administration’s terrorism “policy” in a bad light. Make no mistake, the Clinton’s will do anything to protect their legacy and maintain power.

I have no evidence but here is my speculation about why they hired Berger; it is a political payoff. He did the deed on behalf of the Clinton’s and this is his payback for being a loyal “soldier” in the Clinton “army”. Why else would Hillary Clinton risk the political fallout this will stir up? Why else would she risk being tied to a criminal like Berger? Hillary is smarter than that, politically. The story will die for now, but in the general election this is exactly the type of issue you want to avoid if you are Hillary. This will remind most American’s of the shenanigans that went on in the 90’s, and will remind most of us how much the Clinton’s undermined the prestige and integrity of the office of the president.

This is not the last we will hear about this but it will part of an overload of information that most voters will turn off. That has always been the biggest challenge to defeating the Clinton’s. People get so tired of the voluminous issues of moral bankruptcy and criminal activity. Most people just can’t believe it or all the issues begin to meld into one. They also write it off as political posturing by her opponents and stop paying attention. The sad truth is most of it is the truth. Just a thought…

It’s Not About Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage: This is about you…

Make no mistake, the assault and outright lies about what Rush Limbaugh supposedly said about the troops is outrageous! But make no mistake, this is an attempt to crush free speech through character assassinations and lies. The people that read this blog know this, but for all of the others that stumble upon us here, you need to know, this assault is on you! Rush Limbaugh is one of the strongest supporters of our troops and an outright defender of their mission, purpose, and individual courage. Anyone that listens to Rush knows this well, but what is really eye opening is how these politicians like Harry Reid are willing to lie bold face, with a straight face. This is scary, not surprising, but scary.

When you listen to the distortions and lies, it reveals the character of the politicians making these claims. They should be brought up on libel or at least have the guts to go on Rush’s show and face him to discuss the comments that have been distorted and taken totally out of context. But guess what, Harry Reid is a coward, liar, and despicable human being. I shiver when I watch the distortion and wonder, what else are they lying about? What else are they willing to say to convince you to support their position? How do you trust your government when there are people like Reid running it?

Harry Reid was the politician that surrendered for our troops in his infamous speech about how we “lost in Iraq”. He doesn’t know our troops, care about them, want them to succeed, he only wants them defeated and he has the nerve to question Rush? He is despicable and a disgrace to this nation. He should be run out of town and disgraced for these distortions and lies. But don’t count on the media to pursue the real story, they hate Rush as well. Rush represents you, and your freedom to speak, and they hate that. They hate you, through him. Yes they do…

Michael Savage is being harassed by the San Francisco political community because he tells it like it is. Michael is a bit more hard edge, but when you listen to him, on most topics he speaks for millions of Americans when he says we need to; protect our borders, language, and culture. I like him because I am a native New Yorker as he is, and I appreciate his demeanor and lack of control at times. He is one of the most under estimated talk show hosts on the circuit today.

What we need to be very careful of here is the use of these lies to impose “gag” orders or the “Fairness Doctrine” on these advocates of our rights. First it’s Rush and Michael, then it’s Shawn Hannity and Laura Ingraham, then it’s Michael Medved and Mike Gallagher, then it’s Hugh Hewitt and then it is you! Make no mistake, this about silencing you; period.

Hillary Proposes $5000.00 for having a baby…

It will be called a “baby bond”. Whose $5000.00 are we giving to these babies? Who will control the account where the “baby bond” will be deposited? The democrats scream about the deficit but giving a $5000.00 bond to every baby, four million per year, adds a deficit of 200 million (correction Billion) a year. Will we give this to the baby’s of illegals? If the democrats have their way you know we will.

This idea is so elitist and ludicrous I would laugh hysterically if I didn’t think she is really going to push for this socialist transfer of wealth. Talk about an incentive to have kids! Have 10 kids get 50K when they reach 18. If you don’t think that is what is going through people’s minds you’re not thinking.

The sad thing is she was applauded at a forum hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus. If anyone should know what these programs promising benefits have done to a community, it should be the black community. Government handouts have destroyed the black community and it breaks my heart to see that so many still think government is a help or solution to getting out of poverty. Poverty is enabled by government programs; period.
Between “free” healthcare, $5000.00 “baby bonds”, and an unwillingness to secure our borders, this woman is a danger to our future. She argues:

Clinton said such an account program would help people get back to the
tradition of savings that she remembers as a child, and has become harder to
accomplish in the face of rising college and housing costs.

It will do the exact opposite! Why save when someone else is giving you money? It’s the same as Social Security; many people have stopped saving for retirement because of Social Security. If the government is going to give me money, why save and not spend? These people will be very unhappy in their retirement when they find out that they don’t have enough to do the things they want in retirement.

We need government OUT OF OUR LIVES as much as possible. This woman does not get it and does not deserve to be a Senator, never mind the President. We need to realize these people want to control you and that is not a good thing. When the government controls your destiny, your destiny is doomed. Yes it is…

“Global Warming”; Just another tax grab…

I don’t buy the “sky is falling” mentality behind the “Global Warming” crowd. Most people are with me on this based on the polls I have seen. Do they think it’s an issue? You bet, they are bombarded every day with the environmentalist’s that are profiteering on the fear, like Al Gore. But when you peel away the rhetoric and look at what’s behind the push on global warming politics; it’s a tax grab. This Washington Post article is exactly what this crowd is looking for, an excuse to steal more money from the taxpayers of this country.

Dealing with global warming will be painful, says one of the most powerful
Democrats in Congress. To back up his claim he is proposing a recipe many people
won't like _ a 50-cent gasoline tax, a carbon tax and scaling back tax breaks
for some home owners.
"I'm trying to have everybody understand that this is
going to cost and that it's going to have a measure of pain that you're not
going to like," Rep. John
Dingell
, who is marking his 52nd year in Congress, said Wednesday in an
interview with The Associated Press.

My first thought is 52 years in congress is way too long, and it is time to let some fresh blood in the house. Maybe someone that knows how to work a computer, and isn’t using a fountain pen to write his memos, and possibly someone who has answers other than tax increases. Move on rep Dingell, move on; please.

Here are a few more “bright” ideas from this “representative":

Dingell says he hasn't rule out such a so-called "cap-and-trade" system, either,
but that at least for now he wants to float what he believes is a better idea.
He will propose for discussion:
_A 50-cent-a-gallon tax on gasoline and jet
fuel, phased in over five years, on top of existing taxes.
_A tax on carbon,
at $50 a ton, released from burning coal, petroleum or natural gas.
_Phaseout
of the interest tax deduction on home mortgages for homes over 3,000 square
feet. Owners would keep most of the deduction for homes at the lower end of the
scale, but it would be eliminated entirely for homes of 4,200 feet or
more.
He estimates that would affect 10 percent of homeowners. He says "it's
only fair" to tax those who buy large suburban houses and create urban sprawl.
Historic and farm houses would be exempted.

There you have the global warming crowd’s true agenda; to punish you for success under the guise of “saving the world”. Bull is what I say. Throw these bums out. Are you tired of this crowd like I am? Man am I tired of this same old tune!

Is Doug Lamborn a Leader or Follower?

I must say that Representative Lamborn has raised eyebrows with his threatening phone message to a constituent couple for exercising their free speech, but what has he raised in congress? Has anything he has done shown leadership? Is the representative more content as a follower?

I don’t know but based on his record, Representative Lamborn has one issue; abortion. Now don’t get me wrong, the issue of abortion is an important one but is it one that should engulf the representatives entire agenda? Lamborn is the choice of the people who believe abortion is the one and only issue that matters, but what about the rest of the district? What has he outlined for them?

Doug Lamborn has a 99.2% “party unity score”, the highest in the house. What that means to the district is he is a good follower of the Republican Party line. That’s great if the Republican Party controlling power is all you care about, but what about the republicans, democrats, and unaffiliated voters that want leadership and change in the budget, national defense, and the border? What about the Pinon Canyon expansion funding that was recently removed from the budget? Where was the fight? Where was the leadership? Where does he stand? I will go out on a limb here and say that if Representative Lamborn is content with following, he will be following the soldier’s departure to Texas or some other state willing to accommodate our troops. If we don’t resolve the expansion issue at Fort Carson, our military leaders will find someplace else to house their (our) troops. Military leaders are just that and eventually they will move on if they don’t feel the community has the leadership necessary to resolve the issue. Where is our leader protecting the district’s interests?

Representative Lamborn seems willing to chalk up a lack of engagement as the consequences of being a freshman in the minority. I see it as an excuse not to do the hard work. If the “rules” are stifling for a freshman, then build coalitions to get the rules changed. If you didn’t get a seat on a committee it doesn’t mean you can’t participate in your government. Representative Lamborn is an example of what is wrong with the system and he seems more than willing to just go along to get along.

Representative Lamborn is party first and foremost. He is not willing to make the changes so many American’s are clamoring for in our government. Representative Lamborn is not representing the majority of the district because he is not trying to make a difference. Representative Lamborn is in DC but why? If he is there to wait for the republicans to gain a majority, he may be waiting a long time. If he believes the current system is in our best interest then he will make us all a victim of this system.

Leaders make a difference. Leaders take risks. Leaders fight for many issues on many different fronts. What fronts has he opened for us? Or is he waiting for other leaders to introduce legislation that he can vote on and keep his “party unity score” intact? Representative Lamborn has stated “He will build up more pull as he spends more time in congress.” My first thought is; doing what in congress, waiting? My second thought is why would we want to give him more time? Leaders instinctively use the status quo as an opportunity to make change for the better. While he’s waiting, maybe he could spend some time figuring out why it is right that a freshman can be marginalized in congress because he holds no “clout”. Clout doesn’t come from time, it comes from action. So far I don’t know how you can ask for another term if you are content just waiting around for your turn to be a leader. Just a thought…

A view of the UAW GM strike from an outsider...

GM auto workers in the United Auto Workers Union have chosen to strike. I want to get it out right now, I want fair wages and benefits for all workers but what that means is different in different industries and positions within those industries. Making cars has become an automated process, and with every process that becomes automated, we assume that the quality will go up, and work force numbers to go down. Seems simple but is it? The current UAW contract has a protection clause in it that allows GM to automate the assembly line, but here’s the kicker; they still have to pay the worker whose job was automated full pay and benefits. I’m not sure how you run a business profitably with contracts like that.

It is also common knowledge that fork lift drivers in the UAW make more than $100,000 a year. I would say if you told me $40,000 plus benefits I might not flinch but $100,000? The average Lawyer and Doctor make around that figure. What’s wrong with that picture? In addition, GM’s “non-productive” payroll is creeping up to an unsustainable number and at some point paying people that don’t produce will put you out of business. This is not France. The program must end.

There are two parties responsible here; the management that is accountable for allowing wages and benefits to get so out of whack with their competitors, and the union that seems to think that GM is in business to subsidize the entire population of Michigan, and guarantee a secure and comfortable lifestyle.

GM needs to send a message to the younger generation that manual labor jobs are shrinking and education is a must in order to transition from a labor intensive economy to an information based one. What the current generation’s parents have made by working at GM, is no longer sustainable and the jobs will be more technical than physical. The days of $100,000 fork lift drivers are over and if your job is automated you need to look for other employment.

The UAW needs to understand these are good jobs at good wages but there are other hosts in this world that have labor forces willing to work for half that. It is not a threat it is reality. The alternative is GM will be forced to move and close all of its facilities to more accommodating locations. It is better to work for $60,000 than to have no job at all.

The UAW and GM should be in this together. It is in both parties interest to work together. It is not us and them, just us. We can compete with Japan and others if we work together. Just because it is the way it has always been done, doesn’t mean it will always be done this way. UAW please be smart and work with GM because in most American’s minds, you already have a pretty good package in hand. You will not get a huge amount of support for more.

Those of us without union representation have little sympathy for greed. We also have little sympathy for bad management. What we would like to see is a deal that pays productive workers fairly, and makes GM a competitive player in the world auto market. Just a thought…

Social Security “fixes” are our responsibility not Hillary or Obama’s…

Obama’s suggestion of a tax hike to shore up Social Security is a typical democratic and moderate republican answer to the SS short fall. Raising the retirement age is what Hillary is suggesting as a way to shore up the system. All of the political answers to “saving” Social Security have two things in common; you will retire with less money, and you will not be able to retire when you want.

Having the politicians control your retirement benefits means they control when you retire and the amount of money you have available to retire with. Most people know today that they must save for themselves if they expect to retire in any sort of comfort but I ask; why let the government decide any aspect of your retirement?

If you put the same amount in your own account that SS takes from your paycheck, you could retire both comfortably and on your schedule. Why do we assume that SS is better left in Hillary’s or Obama’s, or George Bush’s hands? Why can’t we say it is our retirement and we will handle it ourselves? The short answer you hear from politicians is most people will not save unless forced to do so. I say, shame on us. But if that is truly the case, then have the government take out a percentage of pay but put it in our personal account that they can’t touch.

A small percentage should be shifted to help the truly disabled and handicapped but also put in their names, not to be touched by our politicians. Why is it that politicians have access to our SS money if it is truly a retirement savings account for us as individuals? If that was truly their intent, there would be no reason for them to touch our money. But we know better, it is about power over you. If they control your money, they control your vote; period.

If I were truly convinced I would receive the benefits promised through SS, I would retire at 55 and use my personal retirement to bridge the gap to 65 and start collecting SS then. But I know better. I will need every penny I save to supplement the money that has been confiscated from me to supplement my SS, and to let me retire when I want, not when the government decides I can.

We have allowed too much control of our lives to be shifted from us to our politicians and government. I just don’t get how we just merrily accept these premises as fact. We have the power to change things and we should. We need to shift the premise of the argument from how to “save” SS, to how do we get the politicians hands off our money. Would we allow them access to our checking or savings account to do with it what they would like? I would think the answer is no but I’m not sure anymore.

Let’s start taking back the things we should be controlling like our retirement and healthcare choices. I promise you, most of us could handle it without Hillary, Obama, or George Bush’s help. Just a thought…
