The State 401K…
When the private sector is not hurting like it is today, these differences are ignored by most, but when times are tough people notice things they should have always noticed. The state pay system must be changed to be in line with the private sector.
As governor I will propose a 401K style program for state workers that will be fair and competitive. By doing that the state will reduce its unfunded pension liabilities, and start paying their workers similar to their bosses; the tax payers. The state will match up to 3 – 6% of the amount of money an employee chooses to save. The state employee will need to participate in their retirement just like we do.
Vacation time will be limited to 4 weeks per year maximum, and MUST be used in that year. No more saving up time to retire early. The retirement age will be at 62 like the rest of us unless they want to start early on their own dime. Medical plans will reflect the average employee contribution of the private business market in Colorado.
It is not about punishing anyone; it is about putting our house back in order. We need to continue the efforts to streamline government through technology advances and reducing the scope of government in our lives.
The state can’t afford the union contracts and more importantly the system has to change so it is self regulating and not dependent on economic times otherwise we will end up with out of balance benefits because of politics.
It will be a challenge to change the mindset of the state employee unions and employees but it is the right and fair thing to do to run a responsible state government…

Working for a Living…
Government regulations, confiscatory tax policy, and a movement to “re-distribute the wealth” of hard working Americans under the guise of “fairness”, is suppressing America’s ability to work. The politicians creating current policy, including the president, have forgotten what work is. Work is created by a need in the market. For example, people need to eat; therefore we need farmers, truckers to get food to market, and grocery stores. People need transportation so car companies manufacture vehicles for people to buy. These are simple examples but it seems this lesson has been lost in today’s political class that think they can create jobs by borrowing boat loads of money and handing it out to who they believe deserve it.
The argument the politicians used to add $700 billion in debt to our children’s tab was to “stimulate shovel ready projects.” If the shovel ready projects were truly needed they would have already been in progress. The government believes that they can create need better than the free market. That is ignorance. The best example happens to be in the state of Michigan. The government spent billions in a “bailout” of GM and jobs and dealerships continue to vanish. In contrast, the state put a tax cut incentive (they reduced taxes to work in Michigan) in place to attract the Hollywood movie industry. The result was an increase of Hollywood “work” in Michigan that went from $2 million in 2007 to $125 million in “work” in 2008. So instead of government making “work”, they got out of the way and reduced the cost of creating work by lowering taxes and regulation and the result? Lots of jobs and lots of work in the film industry and the car companies that are being targeted by politicians; job losses and dealership closings.
Which policy do you think is working better?
Anyone that works for a living understands this concept. If our politicians actually worked for a living they would know this instinctually. Instead they continue to try to create work by borrowing and printing more money to give to “shovel ready projects” and industries they think will generate jobs. They need to leave that to the people that actually work for a living.
That means reducing government intervention and giving more incentives to me and you…

It’s the education system; Stupid…
We are in a time where we have too many Americans disconnected from their great history and have been “assaulted” with daily offerings of how terrible we are as a nation and must change. We are racist, too religious, too proud of our flag, the military are killers, selfish, greedy, polluters, using up the world’s resources at an unsustainable pace, killing the seals, polar bears, whales, and on and on and on the lies are perpetuated with little opposing argument.
We have been undermining our foundation, culture, and country, and we are surprised that Obama tramples the constitution at will? Ask any ten people walking down the street if they have read the constitution and you will be astounded (or not) with the result. The answer to our survival is education, not government education but a new way of educating our children.
Have you read some of the text books our kids are using? They are at best a spattering of useful information at worst propaganda that undermines our future. We need to take control of educating our youth away from the bureaucrats that have an agenda. We know what our kids need and it isn’t indoctrination to global warming and diversity at the exclusion of everything else.
We need to teach our constitution through the entire education experience. We need to free ourselves from government controlled schools by tying all funding to the child so we as parents can control where and who educates our kids.
We need to bring in teachers that have had experience in the real world instead of hiring right out of college. There are so many individuals that would be willing to share their experience and knowledge if we reformed the way we hire teachers.
We need to look at education in a 21st century way. So much has changed in the world and we still educate in the same old way. We need to encourage more Home Schools and alternative schools. It is not about buildings and committees, it about kids and learning.
There are great examples of schools that get it. It is time that we as a nation stop allowing generations of kids to go through failing systems never having the blessing of a great education. We need kids that can articulate an argument without getting frustrated. We need kids that realize they live in the greatest country in the world because of one document; Our Constitution. And we need a generation of kids that understand the sacrifice of our predecessors, are proud of the contribution this country has given to this world, and understands it all begins with individual freedom, not the government…

LL Cool J and Fox News…
The rampant racism on display yesterday was disappointing. The fact that the entire event was based on the color of the new president’s skin rather than his character does not bode well for the coming days. So many factions have been cultivated by the Democrats that I fear a united American people may be a thing of the past.
Obama deserves the criticism and support he will receive in the coming days not because he is a Black President but because he is the American President. And in America we criticize everyone equally, and if the American press believes any different they are wrong. Americans are fair but will not cower to the race card. We respect all races.
So all Americans of every political stripe need to get ready as the policies start flowing to analyze, criticize, support, or reject based on the content of the policy, not the name of the legislation, or the race of the author of the legislation. Just a thought…

Stop right there! Only the States can stop the Feds now…
The state Governors must pull out their pocket constitution and read the 10th amendment carefully for their next step in strategy. Instead of putting their hands out, they should be shutting the door on the federal government. As Raficki in the Lion King says to Simba- “It is time…”
It is time to refuse the unfunded mandates, audit the cost the federal programs like Medicaid, and the impact it is having on the states both financially and socially, review our Return on Investment of our tax dollars in Education, and decide if we are a nation of freedom or going to allow the federal march toward tyranny?
If the Governors had the guts that our Founding Fathers had, this would have been done a long time ago. They gave the states the rights, now we need some leadership to stand up for those rights. The states are not perfect but at least we can drive to our State Houses to protest, support or influence our government. It is closer to home and more controllable.
We need the feds to focus on national security, the war on terror, trade policy and that’s it! They have shown no competence to handle even those things but as a constitutionalist, we have to give them their legal due. Just a thought…

With this sense of entitlement…
Today with this attitude of entitlement it is all at risk; our jobs, our wealth, our benevolence, and our freedom. The economic and historical ignorance of too many Americans is appalling. The thought that the workers at Ford, GM, Chrysler, the window factory in Chicago, believe it is their right to have that job shows the depth of the ignorance. Do they have a stake in the future of these companies? You bet, but only to the degree that it will be in their best interest to make the best cars, at the best price so they can stay employed. Unless they want to put their savings into the company to keep it viable, they are at the will of the business investors, and owners; period.
Our politicians are part of the problem as well. They are thriving on the chaos to “save the day”. But the only thing they are saving is their own career at the expense of our nation. The future looks very bleak to me because of this permeation of entitlement from so many in our nation.
I ask every one of you to think about the business you are in and ask yourself; what did I risk to become an employee here? How much hard cash and collateral did you put up to enable your company to invest in itself for the future? Do you believe that the owner of your company deserves the rewards of investing his life savings in the business that created your job? What is stopping you from starting your own business?
Today’s stock held companies are a different model, and their failed leadership and the lack of consequence for that bad leadership has fostered resentment among the workers. A lot of it rightfully so but that is the stock holders responsibility, and they have failed to hold executives to the fire on the issue of compensation for failed leadership. To allow executives to part companies that they have destroyed with “golden parachutes” is a disgrace. A great example is the crop of CEO’s we now have at our car companies, financial companies, and all too many stock held corporations. They are so out of touch (showing up to beg for our tax dollars on corporate jets) are embarrassments to themselves as Americans, and should step down.
Unfortunately I think my words just float in the wind. No one seems to care about the American work ethic, American free markets are being ignored, and a sense that a government intervention is necessary only adds to the demise of the system. The concept seems so simple to me, and I have a hard time grasping the way people are turning to the most inefficient and dangerous solution; the government. What has happened? My God we need you now!

This is a war on the American way…
We are the greatest engine of democracy, freedom, free markets, and hope for the world. It doesn’t seem that way right now because of the weak leaders we have allowed to take over the reins of our government.
We need to keep working and stop listening to the ignorance coming from the media, political class, and the world. A world that would love to see nothing more than America to implode. They hate our confidence, wealth, prosperity with a passion. And unfortunately so does one of our presidential candidates; Obama.
We need to disconnect from Wall Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, and the halls of congress, and reconnect with Main Street and our American heritage. We need to:
· Elect people that love America and understand Main Street values.
· Stop caring about what the world thinks about us and know in our hearts who we are.
· Bring back business to America that makes things.
· Get rid of the good old boy network; period.
· Reject a media that hates America and start speaking out against their garbage and lies.
· Get involved with neighbors and start planning our strategy to take back our government on November 4th.
There isn’t an ounce of leadership out there, and the markets are reacting to that. We have leaders; the problem is we have been out here trying to keep this country working. It is time to take action!
I am telling you the answer is not cozying up to world leaders; the answer is cozying up to American Main Street leaders. Me and you.
This is a war on our values and our heritage. This is a war that can only be won by getting involved and fighting for the American citizen. We are not world citizens we are Americans! We need to pay attention. Haven’t we lost enough already? Let’s not lose it all.
I would like to know what Doug Lamborn is doing in this crisis. Is he a leader that we will follow? Or do we need a new leader? You do have a choice…

They took your tax dollars; let’s take back congress!!
This is a takeover of our housing system, and as someone who grew up in the Bronx, 5 blocks from a government run housing project, this bill is a DISASTER! In this bill resides a provision for federal oversight and authority to decide critical matters concerning housing loans and government “owned” properties which will be most people holding a mortgage today. We have injected federal meddling into a sector of our economy that they have been dying to socialize for many years, and now they have accomplished it.
They will decide the terms of loans for “low” income borrowers. They will decide the terms banks can use in the lending process, not just financial terms, but what groups will receive preferred treatment.
Healthcare is next after housing. Then it will be the auto industry, and finally the energy industry. It is time to revolt against the people that voted for this, and were present to allow this to happen. They all deserve a revolt at the ballot box.
Vote them all out; I promise you it will be the best feeling and thing we can do to save this country from this corrupt congress and current political class in Washington…

A Few Thoughts…
· I am elated that the first “bailout” bill was defeated! The sky didn’t fall and it won’t no matter what the media says.
· The presidential debate was boring and McCain missed a million opportunities to define Obama. Enough with the nice guy stuff this is the future of our country!
· The market’s largest plunge was followed by its largest gain. And why would you believe 700 billion of our money will change the gamblers on Wall Street?
· Bloomberg is attempting to take over NY by changing the term limit law. Memo to Bloomberg: you are not that important and it is time to go!
· I will have another campaign event on Saturday. A bunch of us will stand out at the Air Force Navy game. Honk your horn if you want to get rid of every congressman! HONK!
· The House will decide whether or not to pass the revised “bailout” bill that has grown from 4 pages of useless effort to over 400 pages of pork barrel projects for Indian wooden arrows, wool makers, farmers, shippers, and the airline industry to name a few beneficiaries. Does this not tell you that these people don’t get it? If McCain wants to win this election, Sarah Palin should open the debate highlighting this bill and how she would paint it with lipstick and put a bullet through it!
· Finally, the media is trying to destroy this country by getting an elitist, America hating, empty suit elected as our next president. If you are even considering Obama, you really need to do some more research. He is dangerous. McCain is not perfect but he is definitely not dangerous. Please think about it. Thanks for that…

A coupe without the guns…
This is a crisis started by congress many years ago in an effort to relax the rules for people to get mortgages. They felt 20% down was a barrier to too many people. So every year it became easier and easier to go into debt while that debt was turned into financial “vehicles” that Wall Street placed bets on. The bet worked for a while but like every ponsy scheme that is based on thin air it was bound to end. This is the end we are seeing today.
Those of us that have lived by the values of the past, don’t spend more than we can afford, are about to be punished for having a value system that used to be the norm in this country. This is not only a financial crisis, it is a values crisis. Debt is the norm. Not just mortgage debt, but credit card debt in this country has escalated while savings have diminished. It is a live for today, the heck with tomorrow culture and it is not sustainable.
We have seen our industry leave because of government regulations, we have an unhealthy addiction on foreign investment, and we have a government that has grown beyond anyone’s ability to understand it, or more importantly change it without a crisis as the impetus.
Here’s what needs to happen;
Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Paulson, and countless others in the House and Senate need to be held accountable; voted out or prosecuted for the fraud that has been allowed during their tenure.
President Bush has to stop his push for government intervention.
The market MUST be allowed to correct ITSELF.
Pass a bill to eliminate the capital gains tax for 3 years.
Wall Street needs to know that we will not bail them out and set the course. Every failed institution must be investigated for fraud and illegal activity.
We must remember that not every financial institution is going to go bankrupt, only the ones that have made bad loans.
Keep up the pressure to allow the markets to fix this; do not listen to the people that created the mess. They are covering their backs. Why would we trust anyone in the congress today?
Protect your 401-k by throwing them all out on November 4th.
We are Americans, and we the people are the only ones that can fix this mess created by our representatives.
Remember that the news stations are loving this because it is all a ratings game for them. They are creating an atmosphere of panic. Know better and stay calm.
We must rebuild trust in our government which means starting over with new representation...

The answer is the American people and private markets…
The only thing government should do is reduce the capital gains tax to 0, and reduce all tax on investment in our markets for the next year. Well one final thing; arrest every corporate and government official that broke the laws in an effort to create mortgage “opportunities” for everyone that met the criteria of breathing.
Beyond that we need to allow markets to correct themselves and let the people that caused this to go down the drain. Send this message and the markets correct themselves quickly, and then we can get on to the task of ousting our elected officials and arresting the crooks; period!
We are hearing that if we don’t do this the world will end. No it won’t; it will begin again…

4 Day Work Week for Colorado State Employees?
First off, the pay is as good if not better for government employees than the private sector, benefits are much better than the private sector, and last; do you know what it takes to fire a government employee? An act of congress and ratification by 3/5th of the state legislators, a majority of union bosses, and the blessing from the pope.
Today a state government employee can “retire” after twenty years, collect 75% of their former pay, get rehired by the same agency, at the former pay scale while collecting their retirement. It is called “double dipping”. For many that start out at the trough young enough, they can “triple dip”. Retiring twice, working for another government agency while collecting two other pay checks. Admittedly this is harder to do but it is not as uncommon as you think.
Meanwhile we slugs in the private sector that pay for this abuse can’t touch our 401K even if we have enough in it to retire until at least 55 without a HUGE penalty. So why can state government employees be paid retirement benefits at the age of forty? A quick caveat here: Federal employees are not eligible with the exception of the military which is OK. I also work with some fine government IT folks that have our best interest at heart but the state system is broke.
A recent story about a water district worker pointed out that the head of that department was collecting $180K retirement check while being paid a $252,000 salary at the same position she retired from! But don't fret, she wasn't getting health benifits. They were taken care of under her retirement benefit. Oh! OK that makes me feel better. In Florida it has been documented that there are 131 triple dippers, and more than 1200 double dippers. All this while being guaranteed a job no matter what your performance.
So I ask; a four day work week for state government employees? Suck it up and pump the gas just like we do. I work for a company based in the UK and their stance on this is; how do we justify a 4 day work week in the US while our European colleagues pay $7 a gallon for gas?
More importantly we need to reduce the government workforce tenfold at all levels of government. The state and fed workers are always crying about their underfunding and job “losses”. Welcome to the real world where nobody is guaranteed anything except their freedom, and even that is under assault. So I say no to a 4 day work week benefit. And I don’t want to hear how it will “save “the state money by closing facilities, reducing electric bills, etc… Bull. If you want to save money, try firing some of the deadwood or repetitive job functions first. There is plenty of that to target. And if they don’t like it, I’m sure there will be plenty of workers chomping at the bit to get a shot at the double, triple dip scam that is going on. Just a thought…

The 10th Amendment has been ignored…
The founders would have never been able to get the constitution passed by the states if they could foresee the current actions of the federal government.
They would be completely surprised at the degree to which the states have given over responsibility and authority for issues regarding individual citizens in individual states. The state representatives at the constitutional convention were passionate about state’s rights, and suspicious of any power transfer to the federal government. It was a miracle that the constitution was ratified.
The Oklahoma legislature that passed the resolution restating their states rights as defined in the constitution would be applauded by our founders. It is interesting how ignorant most of us are on the details and history of our constitution. Ignorance is the only reason we continue to accept unfunded mandates, and an over active federal government supported by an over active federal court system.
If our founders were here today, we would have had a revolution already. All of their fears have been realized. They feared too much power in a central authority. They feared that fractions would develop and control the process of government while ignoring the will of the people. They feared tyranny over the states. They feared a central government would become too powerful and impose on individual freedoms. To name a few…
The Oklahoma state legislature is just trying to re-establish the balance that the founders worked so hard to solidify in our constitution. We should join them…

Declare War on OPEC…
How long would it take to find alternative sources? I don’t know if it is realistic but I do know when America sets her mind on a problem, America usually beats it!
So let’s rally against OPEC and Middle Eastern Oil and put the American spirit behind an effort to become self sufficient, create a new oil market based on real market forces, and find all of the alternatives we can, as fast as we can!
This is America where anything is possible when we set our mind to it!

If he doesn’t debate, what does that "say" about Representative Lamborn?
The real problem for the incumbent is the more you see, the less you like. And that to me is a real problem for our country and district. What type of “leader” is he, if like his commercials say, and the Chamber of Commerce agrees, is someone we should send back to DC, but refuses to debate the issues? What would make him hesitant to defend and promote that record? I ask you; don’t the voters deserve at least a leader that will fight for himself, if not us?
What has happened to the definition of “leadership”? If Doug Lamborn is truly our “leader”, then why isn’t he out front promoting and defending his leadership? What type of leader hides and avoids the tough decisions or actions? What type of leader is one afraid to stand up against the competition? What is the definition of leadership today?
Political strategy aside, this is not leadership. I am embarrassed to have representing me a man that doesn’t have the fortitude to back up his positions and motivate the electorate with his vision. Anyone can vote, leadership is more than voting.
His TV commercials ring absolutely hollow when you assess his unwillingness to defend and promote his candidacy. Crank and Rayburn will be speaking to an empty chair at the debate. They should place an empty suit on that chair because that is what Lamborn is, an empty suit.
My candidacy is about changing the foundation of a broken system. This is one example of what is wrong today in the election of the people that are “running” this government (into the ground). One of the reasons we keep getting the Doug Lamborns of the world is exemplified in this process. Crank and Rayburn are putting themselves out there for judgment before the voters, and Lamborn is allowed to avoid the venue, denying the republican voters an opportunity to make a clear choice. The parties have reduced our choices in candidates, and Lamborn embodies the problem with the party system. Once you’re in the good ol boys club you will be protected and given special privilege even if you don’t have the guts to be a leader.
I have nothing personal against Doug except for the fact that he doesn’t deserve to hold a position he is unwilling to defend. This is unacceptable if you want to be a leader. As a constituent I am outraged at his lack of leadership. In his commercial he talks about fighting the liberals in congress. Do you believe that a man that cowers from a debate in his own party is “fighting” liberals in congress? Have some guts Representative Lamborn…

God Blessed the World with America…
This post is in honor of our Founders and all of the great American patriots that have supported, implemented, and died for the freedom and rights we are blessed with today. Their efforts and sacrifices are under attack today and we must fight back in honor of these patriots.
How do we know God blessed America? Actually God blessed the world with America.
In the creation of this great nation, the wisdom of our founding fathers relied on their belief in a higher being, freedom, and a determination to die for a cause. In return; God Blessed the World with America.
Think about the never ending compassion that America shows the world when a disaster happens. No matter the country, the government, color of the skin, religion that is practiced, or the language that is spoken, Americans rise to the call for help. Both financially and in body, Americans are there when the need arises. Willing to risk it all for others; God Blessed the World with America.
When the world needed a hand defeating Hitler, a dictator that was bent on dominating the world with his evil vision, in the end, who made the difference? The American soldier, citizen, and heart won that battle; God Blessed the World with America.
When there is a tsunami, hurricane, tornado, or other natural disaster, first out of the shoot? Americans; God Blessed the World with America.
The examples are endless of the compassion and courage that make up the heart of the United States of America.
We often hear people suggest that America is the problem in the world. These people have no credibility because when you stack the facts up against any other nation in this world; God Blessed the World with America.
This July 4th we need to stand up and be proud of who we are, and what we have been blessed with. No guilt, no hesitation, no doubt; God Blessed America with the courage, will, and destiny to lead the way for all that seek freedom. We must continue to guard against those that would like to take it away both foreign and domestic.
In honor of all of those great Americans that have died for this cause, and the current individuals currently carrying the mantle, we must help by getting involved in the political process. It’s the least we can do for what we have been given…
On this July 4th 2008 we must remember why; God Blessed the World with America…

Are we ready to die for freedom?
We seem consumed with political correctness where it is frowned upon to criticize the ideas of a black presidential candidate (even though it is his radical left ideology that is being criticized. Not his skin color), offend a Muslim, or disagree with gay “marriage”; freedom of thought is under attack. The enemies of freedom and our Nation use this information to advance their causes.
Nancy Pelosi, “leader” of the House is considering the reintroduction of the “Fairness Doctrine” to squash the free speech on the talk radio circuit because most people that speak or listen to talk radio disagree with her and her radical left agenda. Notice the title of the legislation. If you are not paying attention it sounds perfectly understandable to be “fair”. Our enemies know how lazy we have become in defending freedom, and their tactic is to wrap censorship in an acceptable package and we will “buy” it. Stop criticism and free speech, and you have a clear path to destroying the institutions of this nation.
The Islamic terrorists are using our system against us as well. They know we have a faction of people here, (like Nancy Pelosi) that will be their advocates against common sense proposals that undermine the effectiveness of the terrorists. They know that because of political correctness we will not stop the recruiting of prisoners for the radical Islamic Jihad in our prisons. The terrorists know that profiling has become taboo even though it is the most effective tool we have to narrow down the likelihood of someone being a terrorist. They have sophisticated PR campaigns that try to paralyze the people that are standing in the way of their cause. Simply listening in on known terrorist calls from a Middle Eastern country has become a huge discussion in our political institutions. Most Americans agree we should do it but the argument is that our government will abuse that power and listen in on your calls. It is a Red Herring and they know it. But it is fueled by a desire to bring down the defenses of this country.
At some point in our lifetime we will be faced with the question; is it time to take up arms against an out of control government or a government that has been paralyzed by ineffective leaders? I hope I’m wrong here, but the next few elections will determine the need for the question. Will the American people be ready to die for freedom like our founders and countless others were? If we continue to allow this drip campaign against America along with the continued assault on American values by our incompetent education system to continue, I fear the answer will be no. There have been a lot of great patriots willing to fight for the American cause; and die. Are we willing to do the same? Will we have to?
The best way to defend America is to speak and learn the truth about our enemies. Whether they are Islamic terrorists trying to kill us, or politicians looking to use our system against us to gain further power and control over our lives and destiny, we must be aware. We don’t have the luxury of ignorance any more. Our enemies are closing in and if we don’t stop it now, we will have to take up arms instead of changing it through the power a free people have; the ballot box. Just a thought…

Another “do-gooder” lefty calls for Gestapo tactics…
You see, the left knows better and evidence is irrelevant when it gets in the way of their agenda. Even if the evidence is wrong, cleaning up the environment is worth doing; at any cost. These people are so angry that they have to even listen – to us or anyone that disagrees with them. It ticks them off that peons like us would have the nerve to dispute their premise. My God who are we?
He will tell the House that he is 99% sure now that his predictions are true. Well I guess that ends the debate. If he is 99% sure, why would we question anything? I am 99% sure the left leaning politicians in this country are ruining it, so let’s put them in jail. I could probably whip up a couple of supporters to validate my argument. Oh, that’s right, I’m not a lefty. I’m one of those know nothing peons. I keep forgetting. I should just shut up and let the people that know about this stuff lead the country to ruin.
The left is the new communist movement. They truly believe that the people are the problem, not their ideas and policies. You be the judge…

Democrat’s first instinct; close down free markets…
First; what gives the government the right to take over any private business? Think of the ramifications this could have on the economy and markets. The government can’t do anything right with the exception of our fighting men and women. But even in the military there are huge issues of efficiency in the day to day bureaucracy that could be much more efficient.
Second; you have to have oil to refine. Refineries turn crude into useable fuel. You can’t “control” what you don’t have. This can be chalked up to plain ignorance. Drill, Drill, Drill, Tax incentives for Research on renewable energy, Tax incentives for Research on renewable energy…
Third; where do we live, Venezuela? Russia? Communist China? Islamic Iran? Are we not America? The home of the individual entrepreneur, ingenuity, and the most efficient economic system in the world; capitalism?
These democrats must be exercised from our government. This is a fundamental battle for the heart and soul of America. We need to fight with all of our hearts to defeat this mindset. These democrats in the congress are dangerous. Yes, dangerous to our survival, dangerous for our continued prosperity, and dangerous for our children. Do it for our children. That is what the democrats say. Make it about the children. Throw out the left leaning republicans and democrats; for the children…

What’s an OBSCENE Profit?
The oil companies are coming under attack by the likes of Congresswoman Maxine Waters who is ignorant on most issues, but she had the gall to publicly suggest a government takeover of oil companies. If you think, even for a nano-second that a government takeover of oil is a good idea, think again. Government regulations are the major reason prices are where they are today.
Between the permitting process to drill or build a refinery, a ban on exploration in the two largest reserves in the US, Anwar and the Gulf of Mexico, the insane number of grades of gasoline the oil refineries are forced to make, and the constant assault on the industry from the environmental nuts, it is no wonder gas isn’t $12 a gallon. And it would be if you put economic illiterates like Waters (or most of the current crop of congress) in charge of such a critical industry in our economy.
Seventy (70%) of the cost of a gallon of gas is in the crude price, the remaining 30% is for investment in alternative energy, R&D, taxes and 7% profit. That’s right 7% profit.
It is our government that has created the policy that has caused the current lack of supply and increased prices. And it is the government standing in the way of increasing the supply which will lower the price. And you want the government to take over the oil companies? Think again…
