Leaders Never Follow Polls…

If there were polls in the days of our founding we would have never had the blessings of liberty we take for granted today. Mike Huckabee on his radio show last night criticized the Tea Party Republicans because there was no way to “win” the defund Obamacare movement, so it was foolish to stand up against the law. He and many other conservative talk hosts have been crowing about the polls. The polls are not in support of shutting down the government to stop Obamacare, and the shutdown will hurt future elections! Polls are just snapshots of opinions at that time. They do not reflect changing circumstances because everything is fluid. And leaders change circumstances.

Thank God our founders were leaders and not the sheep we see today. Most people don’t realize that the movement for our independence back in 1775 and 1776 was a minority movement. Most colonists were either supportive of the King, looking for a resolution that would keep the colonies part of Britain, and just a few visionaries could see the centralized authority of a King was an abuse of natural law. If a poll were taken at the time of our founders declaring independence - it would be at best 30% support. That means 70% of the country was eventually led to victory.

All throughout the revolutionary war, George Washington was outnumbered, fighting for support and supplies, and in many instances, at the breaking point of defeat. If the talk show hosts were around then, they would have been treating George Washington the same way they are treating Senators Cruz, Lee, and Paul. They would be spreading the criticism that we should wait until we can win. George should surrender since there was no way to win. They would be suggesting we must wait until we can convince enough people that the revolution is a good idea. “Just look at all the cannons and bullets they have” and we “have no hope!” These people are a bunch of comfortable talking heads that don’t understand that this country is in real trouble.

A true leader takes the risk of taking the first step in the battle. This is a battle that CAN be won. Any leader knows if they can get the truth in front of the people, the polls will follow. So will the talk show hosts.

We are spiraling into debt, we have a President that is incompetent at best, and we have democrats in the senate that are left wing radicals and must be repelled and defeated. We have middle of the road republicans that are the new Gentry class and are too comfortable in being useless at governing but too incompetent to make it in the private sector.

Our founders were brilliant leaders, strategic geniuses, but most importantly they were men of character. They were willing to risk everything that was precious to them for the sacrifice of a better future for their posterity. Our “leaders’ today borrow like thieves in the night from our future generations. It is time for every patriotic American to lead; the polls will follow...

A Decision to Consider a Decision…

What is it with these GOP candidates that can’t even make a decision to make a decision about running for President? Do we really want candidates that don’t even have the fortitude to say: “I am considering a run and I will make a decision by March 30th” or whatever date they choose? Is anyone else concerned about this circus of candidates deflecting such a simple question?


Where is the leadership? We have a large group of GOP politicians that are considered to be considering setting up an exploratory committee to explore the possible entry into the presidential race. Does this exude confidence for anyone that wants to see a true leader returned to the White House?

If a candidate can’t even make the statement that they’re really considering a run but weighing the impact on family, building support, ability to raise money, etc, then we may just end up with four more years of misery which may be the final four years of the country we love. If we don’t make some real decisions we are in real trouble. And it is starting on shaky grounds when the politicians considering a run will not even admit to considering it. The world is going crazy…

From The Patriotic Resistance…

The latest scandal in politics just happens to be from the Republican Party but this story would fit well in either political party or any union or corporate board room. This quote was posted by someone that goes by the handle “Midnight Cowboy” on the ResistNet website. An organization of grass roots conservatives. I am not sure how all of the tea party folks feel but I know what this does when I read about it; It makes me ANGRY! This is why I despise, big business, unions, and party politics. This quote is about Michael Steele’s “leadership” of the Republican National Committee:

“He recently took some heat for moving the RNC annual meeting from Washington, D.C. to Hawaii. And one recent analysis by Politico.com found that compared with 2005, the last comparable year preceding a midterm election, RNC spending on private jets had doubled, limo trips had tripled, and meal expenses jumped from $306,000 to $599,000.”

It is Michael Steele today, but this is not specific to the individual as much as a culture in party politics. This activity goes on because the political parties have become “corporations” with special interests and an agenda that has lost alignment with its members. It is a group dynamic that supports high flying, back room deals, constituent favors, all on the expense of the individual schlep paying the bills. The GOP is acting just like big business and unions do in the pursuit of power and influence. Big business, big government, big unions, and big groups of any kind eventually and unfortunately drift from the roots of the original intent of the organization if leadership is not held accountable by the members. The people are now starting to hold government and political party leadership accountable, and they don’t like it.

Not every Republican candidate is part of this problem but every Republican Party member has accountability in this behavior. The members of the party can brush this off as an individual indiscretion, but is it? Or is there a culture in the two parties that accepts the high life for their leadership while the individual member pays the bills and the price with their individual reputations. Is this the same party you joined and put your faith in? Or is there a need to hold them accountable by demanding fundemental change?

I have personally had enough of every organization that thinks we are just out here to vote or pay the bills. We have a say and we don’t need the organized parties or businesses, or unions to smear our reputations with their behavior while they ignore us; the people paying the bills, doing the hard work, and living life to a higher ethical standard. We do not accept this behavior and we want people in charge that share our values.

It is time to be Jeffersonian in our approach; individual over group leadership…

The Leadership Void…

It is pure chaos out there and only one thing accounts for chaos; a lack of confidence in leadership. It starts with the president, continues on with congress, and is rounded out by big business executives.

It is the reason we are seeing protesters slaughtered in Iran. When the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on behalf of the president says they are hoping that the turmoil in Iran can be worked out peacefully and to respect the open discourse of the people meanwhile on camera women are being shot; you have to ask, is that leadership?

The House just passed a cap and trade bill that will increase the cost of everything as people are losing home value and jobs all based on a false premise of global warming; you have to ask is that leadership?

Business executives are belying up to bar for free handouts and carbon exemptions all for their bottom line even though consumers will no longer have the money to buy their products, you have to ask, is that leadership.

Our president rambles on just like the neighborhood blowhard that everyone ignores because they have figured out his words mean nothing and action is not part of the equation; you have to ask, is that leadership?

We are represented in congress and the White House by people that no longer care about America, they only care about themselves and this can only result in one thing; chaos. My only fear is that congress is a reflection of who we have become as a nation. I can’t bring myself to believe it but for now we live in a leadership vacuum…

God Please Bless America; again, with some leadership…

Go with your gut!

I have always lived by some basic principles; honesty and trustworthiness, hard work, and financial discipline. I have never been caught in a buying or selling frenzy because I always listened to my gut. When people were buying dot com stocks by the boatload I was investing in balanced mutual funds. When people were buying property and flipping it for a profit I was paying down my mortgage.

When people were refinancing to afford vacations, RV’s, and second homes, my wife and I were investing in balanced mutual funds. When we reviewed our finances in the first half of 2008 we believed our strategy was working and was a pretty solid plan based on results. We weren’t getting rich quick but we were living the dream and could see a successful future for our kids and our retirement.

My gut instinct in the 2008 election was that we had two really bad choices for president, one an outright socialist with no experience running a business never mind and economy, and the other was a career politician with no experience running a business never mind an economy. The only thing I could hope for was that the career politician from the Republican Party would have the government less involved in the economy compared to the man that was elected. Because my gut feeling about the man we elected was he could ruin this nation for decades to come. And based on the short time he has been in office it could be that he ruins this country for centuries to come; maybe forever.

My gut now is that many Americans are starting to wake up to the evil that socialism brings to a society; class warfare, an assault on individual rights and freedoms, the undermining of capitalism which is the engine of our success, and the theft of hope for achieving the American dream. The gut feeling I have is that the stock markets agree with my gut and it is punishing the new administration but they are not smart enough to understand what is happening.

My gut instinct is that we Americans that understand this must reject the direction we are going. It is not a “new” direction, as this administration and its supporters suggest, it is a direction that has been tried by the Soviet Union under Stalin, Cuba under Castro, Venezuela under Chavez, and Germany under Hitler, and the results are well documented and not what we need for this country.

My gut is that divine intervention will assist America as has happened in the past but we need to be prepared to intervene on our own behalf. Go with your gut. What does your gut say?

It’s not my responsibility?

I watched the Governor of Ohio, Strickland; argue on a TV interview that he needed a 5 billion dollar bailout because he wasn’t responsible for the Lehman Brothers crash that started the current financial “crisis” which is impacting his state negatively. Curious that he used that example since it was Senator Schumer of NY that started the initial panic, and should be brought up on insider trading charges since he had confidential information which he revealed to start the wave of failures. This entire meltdown seems much orchestrated by people that had an interest in a failing economy. Namely every socialist democrat in our government.

Strickland argued that he has cut the state services to the bone and that it was not prudent to raise taxes in a slow economy. Hmmm! I will bet that state employees in Ohio have some really pricey pension, compensation, and benefit plans that could use some trimming. That is what the private sector is doing, and this is only a guess but I would bet they are like every other state that seems to always have more than enough employees that can stand around an open hole in the ground and ponder the next move. It is laughable when you hear any government bureaucrat state they have nowhere to cut! The reason they don’t want to cut is because they lose their donors or risk going back on a quid pro quo of a past donor. That is the simple fact.

But I digress. Here is a recommendation to all of the Governors in the states, lead or get out. Begging for a bailout is not leadership. Making the tough choices and standing up to the Federal government is. Let’s start applying the 10th amendment to the constitution and start taking back the responsibility of running our states at the local level. Let’s get out of DC. Now that would be leadership. And that is the responsible thing to do…

Another “do-gooder” lefty calls for Gestapo tactics…

The world’s “leading” scientist on global warming (leading is used loosely; he was the first one idolized by the left media) is calling on the government to prosecute oil executives for speaking out against global warming. So much for a healthy debate on the issue or the tons of evidence that disputes his claims.

You see, the left knows better and evidence is irrelevant when it gets in the way of their agenda. Even if the evidence is wrong, cleaning up the environment is worth doing; at any cost. These people are so angry that they have to even listen – to us or anyone that disagrees with them. It ticks them off that peons like us would have the nerve to dispute their premise. My God who are we?

He will tell the House that he is 99% sure now that his predictions are true. Well I guess that ends the debate. If he is 99% sure, why would we question anything? I am 99% sure the left leaning politicians in this country are ruining it, so let’s put them in jail. I could probably whip up a couple of supporters to validate my argument. Oh, that’s right, I’m not a lefty. I’m one of those know nothing peons. I keep forgetting. I should just shut up and let the people that know about this stuff lead the country to ruin.

The left is the new communist movement. They truly believe that the people are the problem, not their ideas and policies. You be the judge…

Crank VS Rayburn Congressional District 5 Colorado…

This is exactly why people are disillusioned by the Republican and Democratic Party’s. Here is an article regarding the Crank / Rayburn campaigns and I ask; how does this help politics and the voters?

It is basically an argument about a deal that was made between campaigns about deciding who would stay in the primary race based on a poll. Now we have polls deciding the party candidate you can choose? This is exactly why I left the party. Most of the primary is spent arguing who is the better candidate for the party rather than who the better candidate is for the electorate.

I understand they want to make it a two way fight against Lamborn but I would rather have them explaining why they are the best candidate for Colorado District 5. They are both good men with good intentions caught in an ugly process. I appreciate their passion for wanting to serve the community, but this entire primary process has gotten out of hand.

Who has lived here longer is silly to be arguing about. I think we should have a more robust general election campaign with more choices for the voters. The sad thing is that no matter what happens between these two, party members will more than likely vote for the incumbent because of has “insider” status now. Groups like Club for Growth will support him because they know him and he is a good follower, but he is not going to be a congressman that will ever make changes that are needed for the future of this country. He will be a guaranteed conservative vote but will he be a passionate leader for the conservative movement? There is a difference.

There are so many people that would make a better representative than Doug Lamborn including Crank, Rayburn, and myself. I challenge others to get into the race as a write-in to generate lively debate about the direction of this nation and the fundamental flaws of the current party politics.

I urge these two good men to abandon the party and offer themselves up to the electorate free from the shackles of the party. It would be good for everyone involved. Just a thought…

What Martin Luther King Would Say…

Dr. King was senselessly murdered 40 years ago today. I wonder what the Reverend King would think if he could see what has happened to race relations today. I think he would be disappointed. His greatest disappointment would be how reliant the Black community’s “success” has been tied to government programs. His dream was a colorblind and equal opportunity society. He would be disappointed in the way, Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakhan, and their ilk have used race to keep them wealthy, and the larger community dependent. Dr. King’s message was directed toward a White America that needed to change and embrace Black Americans. If he came back to see today’s race relations, he would find most supporters of his original message would be conservative White folks. Something to think about…
