Is Social Media Undermining the Right to Privacy?


Too many people post too much stuff about their comings and goings, where they are eating, what they are buying or feeling at every hour of the day. I am not going to comment on the way people choose to share their lives because I engage in social media sites as well, but my concern is the message it sends to kids.

The right to privacy is a constitutional, God, given right that we should cherish. We should be able to live our lives without interference from anyone including and especially government agencies and bureaucrats. The right to privacy is as important as the right to free speech which is greatly improved with the advent of social media. Social media has given a voice to so many more Americans, and it has broken the “log jam” of newspaper editors that used to control the flow of information. But what about protecting our privacy?

In Utah, as we speak, a new DOD data center that is being built in the name of security is going to be capable of watching and spying on every American citizen without their knowledge. In the name of keeping people safe, the federal government is preparing to make our lives less safe and endangering our right to privacy. We will be less safe from the prospect of an over reaching and controlling government. I want to allow the government to track terrorists but at what cost? What information will we allow them to gather on us? And from where we will allow them to gather information on law abiding citizens?

So here is my fear. As kids spew their lives on every social network without an ounce of consideration, how likely will they be willing to protect the rights of privacy and our other constitutional rights? Their willingness to share their information may cloud their judgment on constitutional limits. It will be easier for the younger generation to shrug off as unimportant the ability and reality of government agencies tracking our every move. They are so accustomed to being tracked by friends, why not the government? And not only government, corporations and advocacy groups as well.

Between the lack of civics and history in the public school curriculum, the acceptance of information dumping on social networks, and the ability of federal government to track our every move, what will become of privacy? What will become of our nation? What will become of our Constitution? What will become of our liberty?

“Climate of Hate” Built on Lies…

Conservatives are angry with the way their government has ignored their call for fiscal responsibility. Conservatives are angry with the way their government ignores the constitution. Conservatives are angry with the assault on their freedom and the intrusion of government into their private lives. Conservatives are active and engaged in the process we call democracy. Conservatives are not prone to violence against their government. Conservatives use the political process at the ballot box to make the changes they see necessary when reforming government. That is what happened this past November.


Paul Krugman’s article “Climate of Hate” is a pack of lies. Conservatives do not have a propensity toward violence; it is the left that leans on violence to get their way. Every violent disturbance this country and the world witnesses are funded and flamed by unions, community organizers, college students, and environmentalists. They call it “social justice” and they rarely use the legitimate political process like elections because their agenda is usually rejected by the citizenry. You see the dirty little secret is the majority of people live their lives as conservatives. Conservatives take responsibility for their lives, pay their mortgages, work hard and save, and simply don’t have the time to burn flags, piss on crosses, apologize for American success, and undermine the moral fabric that holds this nation together.

The idea that Fox or talk radio or conservatives are bad for America is preposterous. The idea that conservative talkers promote violence is an absolute lie. What Krugman has done in this article is to flame the fires of lies that have no standing in fact. This latest assault on innocent victims was conducted by a mentally unstable individual that leans left not right. There is no connection between the good conservative Americans and this violent tragedy in Arizona. These families are being prayed for in every conservative home in America while the left wing continues to expel religion from our society. The compassionate soul of this country is collectively coming together around the victims of this tragedy while the left uses this as a political tool to promote their agenda. Krugman should be ashamed of this article. And the NYT’s should be ashamed that they printed it.

Is Krugman suggesting we limit free speech? Or just conservative speech? Is Krugman accusing someone specific on the right for this tragedy? Is Krugman using the NYT’s to promote a dialogue to discuss our political differences? What exactly is Krugman doing with his article? Who did the fact checks on this article? Who believes this tripe?

Limiting disagreement about our government is unconstitutional so what is the answer? Let’s start by telling the truth…

Tragedy and Disappointment…

Our hearts go out to all of the victims in Arizona. It was a horrific tragedy for the families that ended up victimized by a deranged individual. This individual was telegraphing his mental instability to all those that knew him and of him. He was a deranged individual period.


The disappointment with this event is the way some are trying to assault our First Amendment rights by leveraging this tragedy. The First Amendment was enshrined in the Constitution specifically to guard against the conversation taking place in the media today. Too many are talking about the political dialogue taking place in or country is somehow responsible for this deranged individual’s act of terror.

Any individual that has studied our history understands the political rhetoric in this country has always been heated and passionate. Our founders knew the government’s propensity to try to stop the people from speaking out against their government, and incidents like the one in Arizona are exactly why we need the First Amendment. Without it our politicians would have already passed a law restricting your speech. The political debate is so heated and passionate because politicians, government officials, and the media have stopped listening to the people. The people in the government are bankrupting our country and it is every citizen’s duty to speak out against the outrages of this government. We lose our freedom when we stop speaking out against the corruption that permeates today’s politicians and administration. It does not mean that because we speak out we are fueling some kind of violence. People that are violent will find any excuse to act out. To blame political rhetoric is an act against our constitutional principles.

The First and Second Amendments will come under assault in the coming days and weeks. The left and some of the Republicans are going to try to make people feel uncomfortable speaking out against government. They will say the level of rhetoric is “vitriolic”. Don’t fall for it. This is the same group that has allowed television to become the perverted arena it is today. They use the First Amendment to protect pornography, foul language, and terrorists that want to kill us. But now all of a sudden it is the people speaking out against the government is a danger we can no longer accept. These people are transparent and enemies of the republic. That’s right, I said enemy of the republic. Is that “hate” speech?

If you have the opportunity to talk to someone that supports modifying free speech, ask them to be specific. Ask them; which words are off limits; what context can we use certain words; who will decide what words are considered inflammatory; what will be the consequences of speaking out against our government? Get specific and watch them squirm. Just keep asking questions about what, who and how they intend to monitor free speech?

When they attack the Second Amendment ask how people will protect themselves against the deranged individuals that never let the law get in their way when it comes to getting guns. Guns allow law abiding citizens to protect themselves from criminals, and as the founders feared from the power of an out of control government.

This is a constitutional battle that is taking place as a result of this tragedy. The families of this tragedy deserve our prayers and support. The effort to chill free speech deserves our full attention and we must fight back and stand tall because we know our rhetoric is needed to protect against a tyrannical government and politicians that are positioning to steal our free speech…

Freedom of the Press VS. Subsidizing Newspapers…

The founders knew the best check on government was the ability of the people and press to speak out against the government and its representatives freely. At the time of our founding, the press (newspapers, pamphlets, letters, etc…) were the only organized vehicles to speak through at the time. Without the “press” of the time, the general public’s ability to get information about issues would have been crippled if not for the traditional means of communications was not protected.

Subsidizing the “business” of the press was not their intention. The only consideration for the founders was protecting liberty by protecting the ability of individuals and organizations like the press to speak out against an oppressive government, and by limiting the power of the government to control the speech against the same government. To suggest that the government should have any role in ensuring a media company’s success in the market place is a total distortion of original intent.

Today, we have the internet, radio, TV, all what the founders would have labeled as the press. Every one of the new medium unknown to the founders at the time is a support for the original intent which was protecting speech and limiting the power of government. Because the traditional press has squandered their prestige by becoming political arms of party politics is the reason they are failing. They have greater competition, yes, but the real reason for their failure is their drifting from truth and facts to opinion and advocacy. Once you take a side you limit your audience. A very simple concept to understand.

So for the tax payer to subsidize a press that is no longer objective and separate from the government it is supposed to “protect” us from is in absolute contradiction to the original intent of our founders. We don’t need the traditional press, although I believe they still have an opportunity to reform themselves, we have what the founders were trying to truly protect which was the ability to speak out against our government through the expanded mediums we have today. Today’s technology has made speech safer from the perspective of holding government accountable. That is why the argument has shifted to protecting the internet from government control. Because the internet is more like the original press our founders wanted protected. A free interchange of ideas without government influence.

Let the traditional press models fail if they can’t compete, we have an outlet to speak against our government. Once the government is subsidizing the traditional press, we no longer have an independent advocate protecting our liberties. They will become an arm of the government, and that is definitely not what the founders intended when protecting the press in our constitution.

We’re Talking; They’re Doing; So Who is Winning?

I listen to outraged radio and television talk show hosts, clearly arguing against what is happening with the out of control federal government, sometimes getting heated to the point of obvious frustration, meanwhile Obama and the enemy within are passing legislation and borrowing more money than we can ever pay back. The left and their leader Obama are willingly bringing on an economic crisis of enormous proportion, trying to destroy capitalism, free markets, freedom, and our American Dream, and we are waiting until November to counter?

You need to read “Samuel Adams, A-Life” by Ira Stoll, to understand how this type of battle would have been handled by one of our most underappreciated founders. Sam Adams was the ultimate agitator for liberty, and if he was here today would have riled up the masses to frenzy, and stormed the house and sent every one of our representative’s home by any means necessary to do so. Our founders understood the cost of freedom:

What is our promise to our posterity? Will we wait to take action until it is too late?

We can see what is happening and know where we are heading so why do we think we can wait? Last night Greta Van Susteren was arguing we had to bail out Greece. Why? She suggested the domino effect because we are all linked globally especially through the economy. Greece is the size of the City of Los Angeles. If you can justify a bailout for Greece where does it end? When do we cut the cord?

Our constitution protects Americans and only Americans. This is truly the end if we have to bail out every lazy, corrupt, two bit dictator, kingdom, or democracy around the world.

When will we be willing to protect our posterity? We can talk about it, but the enemies of the American Dream are doing something about it…

Fear of the Federal Government is not radical it is American…

Our education “system” is broken. When the main stream media can get away with making the argument that it is “dangerous” to stir the people up to fear their government, which may lead to violence, shows their ignorance of our history and founding.

Our founders were skeptical and inherently suspicious of centralized power. The creation of the federal government only barely made it past the state ratification process. Along the way to ratification, several additions to the constitution, including the addition of the Bill of Rights was imperative because of the absolute distrust of a central “authority”. The state’s and founders had to not only build the argument for ratification, but also build a barrier to protect the states from an over reaching central authority by including the Tenth Amendment, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”, otherwise the federal government would have never become a reality. This mistrust and fear of a central authority permeated the country and was the foundation of the greatest form of government ever derived by men. Regarding government; they knew less was more and more was a threat to all.

As we watch pundits make the arguments that some types of speech against the government can “enflame” violence toward the government, I ask you; what does the first amendment say; “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The founders and our ancestors that agreed to ratify the constitution knew what was bound to happen by empowering a central government. So they included what they considered clear restrictions on the authority of the federal government because they did not trust any central authority. Today we find ourselves right where our founders predicted, but fortunately their fear, foresight, and protections are clearly documented in the constitution.

Listen closely when pundits and politicians talk about “types” of speech. The type of speech they are targeting to control either through a “chilling” effect or outright legislation is the speech we are engaging in against our government and its policies. We are assembling peaceably through tea parties and trying to redress our grievances. Is this not exactly what our founders were protecting us against? Is fear of the federal government unfounded? Were our founders radicals? Would our founders consider the tea party movement dangerous or patriotic?

Our founders were brilliant and prophetic about the rights they knew must be etched in stone because they were God given, and would one day come under assault from tyrannical forces. Those tyrannical forces are among us. We must teach our history or we will be throwing away our future…

Change the Constitution?

I often hear from people that say the constitution is old and needs a revamp. The argument goes something like this “how can a document written so long ago be relevant today? So much has changed.”

I can understand how people can argue that things have changed since the time of our founding, but it tells me that they have not read the constitution or any history surrounding its creation. I encourage all to read the document and especially those that believe it should be changed. The dirty little secret is it can be changed but the process is deliberately difficult to insure changes are not made on emotion and are vetted, debated, and voted on by the legislatures in every state to insure agreement on the proposed changes.

The fact is that human nature doesn’t change. Human beings have common emotions and in critical moments have a propensity toward mob rule, violence, and tyranny. This historical and indisputable fact is the foundation of the U.S. Constitution. It is designed to limit, when respected and adhered to, the infringement of government on the individual’s rights and to protect against the propensity of government to dominate and control others. Just look around the United States today and you will find circumstances that support the fact that humans are emotional, violent, and use government to infringe on other people’s rights. The healthcare bill is a perfect example.

The other fundamental principle the founders understood and acknowledged was there is a God. They based many of the founding principles on the premise that certain rights are God given therefore can never be given or more importantly taken away by man. Think hard about this principle even if you are not religious. This is not about religion it is about a power greater than man. That principle is the foundation that keeps those determined to rule your life in check.

Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and many other dictators knew that targeting and killing the men of God had to happen in order to control people. If there was a power greater than them it would undermine their ability to rule. Without a belief in God, who makes the “rules” of a government? What man do you trust to protect your God given right to life?

Based on these fundamental principles the founders documented the greatest government framework the world had ever and has ever seen to date. And I as well as many others believe will never be trumped because these principles do not change.

Our constitution protects our individual right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and these are the principles outlined in our constitution so I ask; what should we change?

• Should we as individuals give up our rights to a government authority?
• Should we give up the right to private property and have a government authority divide up the land?
• Should we only assemble together when the government gives us approval?
• Should government determine the God we worship?

What should we change? Many that want this change are willing to give up their rights for the common “good”. But the constitution protects the people from the “good” of government. It limits the “good” they are allowed to do because government has a track record of tyranny, inefficiency, violence, and misery.

The individual right of Americans to pursue happiness under our constitution has been responsible for the happiness of millions around the world that have not been as fortunate as us. Free markets and free people have created the wealth that has fed nations and lifted millions out of poverty. Government can’t do that. Read your history.

Before you suggest changing the constitution, first you must learn and understand its purpose. Then if you still feel it needs changing, start a movement to make the change. Be careful what you ask for…

The Real Threat to Mankind is the Federal Government…

Yesterday the Environmental Protection Agency declared carbon dioxide an “endangerment” to mankind in order to give it the ability to regulate the substance without going through the congressional legislative process. Basically it gives them tyrannical powers to control anything that emits carbon dioxide which includes YOU!

This received little press but it is a significant threat to our way of life. Carbon Dioxide is necessary for life and is a bi-product of the human breathing process and nothing could be more natural to the environment. Plants could not grow and life could not be sustained without it but now we are to believe we are “endangered” by this common element of life? This is nothing but a grab for control of tax dollars, regulating business, and a movement toward world tyranny through the phony environmental movement.

As governor of Colorado I will nullify every environmental regulation of this current administration. I will be a wall of freedom for every Coloradan, and every American that is tired of this crazy bunch of lunatics that want to destroy this great nation. I will stop federal expansion and I will ask every Colorado citizen to be a soldier in this fight. We must take a stand and we need to stand on the constitutional grounds that we were founded on.

I love the environment but I can see a dictator from a mile away, and this administration and current federal bureaucracy is full of dictators that want to dictate your life right down to the last breath you take. They are as dangerous as Nazi Germany was to the Jewish population in the 1930’s. They are building a movement around a false premise and will destroy anyone that questions or challenges the movement. They have not reached the point of extermination camps but if this movement is allowed to continue the ramifications could be the same.

We are under assault and we need to look to the Governors of the states and we the people to stop this war being waged on us. Get involved and get ready to be called to battle. You need to be ready because they are coming for you. You can bet your last breath on it…

Union Thugs Are Nothing New And They’re Not Enough…

I supported Mitt Romney’s senate campaign against Ted Kennedy back in 96 and the same tactic they used then is coming back today. The meeting in Tampa as seen in this video is typical of the left’s answer to debate and criticism; bring in the goons.

These union members should be ashamed of themselves. Are they not Americans first? The reason there is such opposition to healthcare is the speed, secrecy, and elitism that is being used to push it through. There has been no debate and members of congress don’t even know what is in the bill. We should all be scared as Americans.

Corner an American and what you get is similar to any creature you corner; a violent reaction. These members of congress who are closing down their meetings with union bouncers are getting the reaction it deserves; total rebellion. This is the American way when our government over steps its bounds. These congress people and union thugs are inciting the reaction they are getting.

And what is president Obama’s response? To blame the protestors, call in the brown shirts to rat out good Americans that disagree, and basically dig a bigger hole for his presidency. The next step will be a total revolt of the American people against this government and it is being fueled by the arrogance of this president.

They are thugs from Chicago and they are used to getting their way. This is not Chicago, this is America. We are on the rise and ready to confront this assault on America’s traditions, values, and freedom. Bring it on Mr. president. Union members that support you are not enough to stop the will of the American people. We are ready to fight for our freedoms; whose side are you on?

Remember Who We Are…

We are under attack from a federal government that has become paranoid about the people they serve. The problem is they have forgotten that they serve us, not the other way around. This is a government that is given its power by the people, the government does not grant us power. We are in control not them.

The reason people are getting in their face is we are getting a feeling that this government is about to do some really damaging things to the greatest nation in the world; unconstitutionally. That gets Americans worked up and active. There is no need for groups to organize a “resistance” because the resistance is coming from the soul of the American people. This administration and its cohorts can use their talking points to try to marginalize this movement but it will be fruitless because we the people are talking amongst ourselves.

We will not put up with a White House that is soliciting people to rat out organizers. We don’t need organizers but even if we did, that is our right. We are not sheep so unless a movement rings a chord with us the movement will fail. We are upset with the direction of these people and every day this federal government is plotting new ways to destroy the wealth and soul of this nation.

We will win in the end because no matter what side of the ticket people vote for they are united on one front which is; if our government doesn’t listen to the people we will change our government. The congress is about to go up for election next year and a simple call, e-mail, or visit to remind them of who they work for will go a long way.

We are Americans and we love a good fight. We have a history of victory and we have been known to make the right changes throughout history. This administration is gathering its soldiers; unions, socialists, thugs, and elitists to squelch your voice. They have forgotten who we are; Americans first… We will continue to speak out!

No More Personal Accountability…

The tragic murder of George Tiller a man who performed late term abortions in Kansas is bringing to light one of the most important issues in society today; personal accountability.

Left wing blogs and left wing activists are trying to paint the entire community of people that oppose abortions in the same light as the man who killed Tiller. Their argument is that the act of this one crazy deranged man was influenced by Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingraham, talk radio, preachers, and anyone opposed to abortion that has spoken out against the act. They believe if it wasn’t for the opposition to abortion and the legitimate debate about what abortion is Tiller would be alive today. They argue that any open and free debate can influence people to do tragic things like murdering the people they disagree with. If we believe this to be true we must shut down all speech including theirs.

The problem with the left’s argument is they leave out the one person responsible for the act of murder; the murderer. The personal accountability we each have over our actions is the true issue here. Every day people make personal decisions to engage in behavior that is both good and bad. No one holds a gun to our head to behave in certain ways. People are influenced by TV, radio, Blogs, and personal conversations. If we hold to the left’s current argument we will need to hold everyone else responsible for influencing bad behavior except the person that is truly responsible. The only people the left ever hold accountable for anything are conservatives.

The left continues to argue even after years and years of contrary evidence that people aren’t responsible for their own lot in life. They believe minorities are poor because of racism, the alcoholic continues to drink because of conditions beyond the drinkers control, children behave aggressively because of a chemical imbalance, and rich people get rich because they were born into wealth. The list goes on and on. The denial of personal accountability in both good and bad circumstances is ignored.

People are poor because they never finished their education, people are drunks because they choose to drink, kids are aggressive because parents don’t do their jobs, the rich get rich because they take risks and work 15 hours a day seven days a week. They are the way they are because of the choices they make. There are some exceptions but for the majority of us in life it is personal decisions that get us where we end up in life.

That is the case with this murder of Tiller. The murderer was responsible for taking the life of Tiller. O’Reilly, Ingraham, talk radio, Blogs, religious leaders will continue to debate the issue of abortion and the impact it has on society. That is a debate that must continue and they have no accountability in the murder of Tiller. The murderer is the only one responsible for taking Tiller’s life…

The move toward “emotional economics” will pressure free speech…

The Obama administration is reading up on a new economic theory in the book “Animal Spirits” which believes “ideas and feelings” drive the economy independent of the real data. I believe there is definitely truth in that theory since consumer spending is 70% of the economy and consumers don’t spend when they “feel” scared of the future.

So as this administration that likes to act like Don Vito Corleone of the Godfather tries to talk up their economic plan and the economy they will try to use their strong arm tactics to silence their critics; mostly talk radio and the internet. We are entering a true fight for the heart and soul of America and this is serious business. These democrats, and I use this term loosely because I believe most people that consider themselves democrats do not believe the same way this administration does, will start ratcheting up the smear tactics they need to silence the truth.

The truth is that all the positive rhetoric in the world doesn’t change the fact that the economic “foundation” of this administration’s policies have been tried and failed all around the world. Equal outcome and government interference in the economy never and can never work. America is addicted to debt and this will ruin us. It is ruining individual families and it will ruin this nation. We need to scale back on spending, increase our savings, reduce our debt, and embrace the principles of hard work and patience. Having cash to purchase goods besides a house and car needs to make a comeback.

We are approaching 10% unemployment and Michelle Obama is joking about everyone having a chief of staff and a bunch of servants. That kind of disconnect is a symbol of how far we have drifted from the White House being a house of the people. These current inhabitants are so enamored with power they have no sense of what real America is. They can joke and talk up the economy all they want but the reality is in every household in America there is fear and concern about this out of control government we have at the federal level.

They will try to shut us up. They will try to destroy legitimate criticism. They will try to destroy talk radio. Just like they are about to destroy our economic engine of freedom; capitalism… They must be stopped by educating the people of their true intentions; power OVER the people…

What is Extreme?

The UK has banned radio talk show host Michael Savage from entering the country based on “… the standards and values we live by…” stated Home Secretary of the UK, Jacqui Smith. It is sited that Mr. Savage has views about Islam that are inflammatory along with other untrue accusations.

As the Homeland secretary bans Mr. Savage for stating truths about radical Islam, in London’s largest Mosque the seeds of revolution and culture clashes are brewing with fomenting hate. The UK’s Islamic community is speaking out in the open about forcing Islam on the rest of the world including their host the UK.

I think the Homeland Secretary has a home grown problem on her hands that deserves real attention. To demonize Mr. Savage for what we here in America consider our rights under the US Constitution; free speech, petitioning our government, and open debate is not a good use of her time.

She has the most extreme elements of a religion dedicated to the destruction of Britain’s way of life right under her nose and she is wasting her time banning a good American like Mr. Savage. I know she thinks this would be popular here but she is wrong. She will have increased this already popular talk show host’s audience, and they will be much more comfortable with Mr. Savages agenda compared to the agenda of the extreme radicals Ms. Smith is ignoring. Just a thought…

American Embarrassment…

I am proud to be an American. I am proud of a nation that has been responsible for more good in the world than any nation in history. Americans have been able to do that because we were founded by individuals that were extremely suspicious of government power and authored a constitution designed to limit the power of centralized government.

They also believed that the people we would send to represent us would be honorable men of the community but how wrong they were. Let's look at a few of these honorable representatives. We have a degenerate Barney Frank grilling private sector CEO’s on the ethics of their management as he lives with a man and has a gay prostitution ring run from his home. Ted Kennedy killed a woman and got away with it. Christopher Dodd is a drunk and philanderer that s a history of late night escapades with Ted Kennedy.

Nancy Pelosi is married to a man that makes millions off of the federal government policies. William Jefferson indicted on bribery and was found with thousands stuffed in his refrigerator. Charles Rangel fails to report 75K in freebies. Harry Reid declares the Iraq war lost meanwhile a huge election was just completed without violence and most candidates supported US policy. Four Obama cabinet nominees have made “honest” mistakes by not paying their taxes.

Are these the people our founders would have expected us to elect? I look at our new president and the politicians that are responsible for this disgraceful anti American legislation and it is all an embarrassment to America.

This legislation is a disgrace to every American and our history. It dis honors the soldiers that died for this country, and as Americans find out what is in this bill they will be outraged that their representatives didn’t stop it, and even more outraged if they voted for it.

This new president is already the worst president in our history and it is not even a month into his term. We can only hope that the sooner people see how this will steal more of our freedom, continue to drain our savings and home values, and drive us deeper into mediocrity, we will take action. Whatever action is necessary to get our country back.

Politics is serious; very serious…

There are two types of voters, the first is “passionate” and the second is “casual”. The casual voter tends to dislike politics, consider it unimportant, they believe their vote doesn’t matter but vote out of obligation, and are persuaded by media and trends.

The “passionate” voter drowns themselves in political news, talk radio, blogs, would rather die than not vote on Election Day. They argue how important it is to the future of our country that we elect the right people.

The casual voter listens but in all reality, they see little evidence supporting the passionate arguments of the passionate voter. They don’t see the assault on freedom, the intrusiveness of the government, the burdensome regulations, and the disregard for the US Constitution. They occasionally get upset with a tax increase and then figure it into their budget. They are the boiling frog.

The government is out of control and I am afraid of what it will do next to address these “crisis”. There is already talk of the government taking over banks. There is talk about government interference in places our founders would have never envisioned.

The government is on the brink of becoming more dominant and tyrannical than ever before. We are about to see a total disregard for the things that have made this country great; individual freedom, free market capitalism.

You have to wonder if there are discussions going on in the halls of our government institutions about how the government must takeover for now and disregard the constitution. A scene reminiscent of Star Wars where the emperor with a heavy heart accepts the supreme powers; temporarily. You can hear the justification from the elite’s now; it is what is “best” for the people.

I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means but I am a student of human behavior. Our government was designed to protect us from human nature; our obsession for power and control. That is why we have a balance of power and the bulk of power resides in the House of Congress. But do we have the right people in congress?

We have two lousy choices for president so we must make sure we choose our congress wisely. McCain is the lesser of two evils. Obama is not deserving of consideration for the office he seeks. His past is sketchy, his friendships are troublesome, and his values are few.

Please look closer at this election. It may be the last one you see if you choose wrong…

Balance in media? Or trampled First Amendment?

I ask you; who do you trust to decide what is balanced thought/speech? The government? The same government the founders created out of complete distrust of government? The reason the founders were compelled to guarantee a right to free speech against the government was exactly what “balanced” thought/speech is guaranteed to do; squash political speech. So any “fairness” doctrine is an assault on the first amendment. To think that nearly 50% of Americans don’t see a problem with the government infringing on free speech on our talk radio networks is chilling to me.

Can we be that numbed to the implications this has on the political process? Can we be that flippant with our freedoms to think that people in the government are not trying their best to intrude in our lives? Can we be that stupid?

Most people don’t realize how fragile and unusual our system of government is. It is based on the premise that we are endowed with inalienable rights from our creator. That no government power is granted without the consent of the people, and to think that the people would concede to trampling on the first amendment is frightening. How does this happen?

I hope you are not one of the 47%. If you are; you need to rethink your position. Today it is talk radio; tomorrow it will be the words that leave your lips that will be the focus of these government “officials”. And God forbid you say anything “unbalanced” about your government when that happens. China, Russia, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, anyone?

God Blessed the World with America…

This post is in honor of our Founders and all of the great American patriots that have supported, implemented, and died for the freedom and rights we are blessed with today. Their efforts and sacrifices are under attack today and we must fight back in honor of these patriots.

How do we know God blessed America? Actually God blessed the world with America.

In the creation of this great nation, the wisdom of our founding fathers relied on their belief in a higher being, freedom, and a determination to die for a cause. In return; God Blessed the World with America.

Think about the never ending compassion that America shows the world when a disaster happens. No matter the country, the government, color of the skin, religion that is practiced, or the language that is spoken, Americans rise to the call for help. Both financially and in body, Americans are there when the need arises. Willing to risk it all for others; God Blessed the World with America.

When the world needed a hand defeating Hitler, a dictator that was bent on dominating the world with his evil vision, in the end, who made the difference? The American soldier, citizen, and heart won that battle; God Blessed the World with America.

When there is a tsunami, hurricane, tornado, or other natural disaster, first out of the shoot? Americans; God Blessed the World with America.

The examples are endless of the compassion and courage that make up the heart of the United States of America.

We often hear people suggest that America is the problem in the world. These people have no credibility because when you stack the facts up against any other nation in this world; God Blessed the World with America.

This July 4th we need to stand up and be proud of who we are, and what we have been blessed with. No guilt, no hesitation, no doubt; God Blessed America with the courage, will, and destiny to lead the way for all that seek freedom. We must continue to guard against those that would like to take it away both foreign and domestic.

In honor of all of those great Americans that have died for this cause, and the current individuals currently carrying the mantle, we must help by getting involved in the political process. It’s the least we can do for what we have been given…

Today’s Liberals Will Destroy America…

You may think you’re a liberal, and proud of it. Think again. Today’s “liberal” is motivated and guided by elitism, and has a total disregard of reality and history. Does that still sound like you? Today’s liberals believe that the constitution is a relic, and only slows down the progressive “change” they believe is necessary for them to provide a bright future for you and me. (Elitism at its finest) If only the constitution wasn’t in the way, they could stop the descent (free speech) of those conservative Americans who are really just angry white men, upset at losing power but unknowingly needing liberal’s guidance and direction to live a “fulfilled” life.

If only the second amendment wasn’t there, liberals could stop all the violence by taking away the guns from law abiding citizens, leaving the guns to the criminals. Don’t you feel safer already? Only criminals having guns is so much safer, don’t you think? How much easier would it be to control the American people without the threat of them owning guns?

Let’s look at the Black community. Hasn’t government control of education, a liberal favorite, been a great advantage to the inner city Black communities? Just look at how the Black community stands up against the White communities that either have a choice or hold public school officials accountable; hmmm! You decide. Do you want your kids counting on the liberal’s idea of a good education?

How about Katrina? When the microscope was placed on New Orleans after Katrina, the impact of liberal “rule” over a community was apparent and appalling. Generations of Americans were shackled with government and denied the hope that the rest of us have who don’t have to live under today’s liberals.

We now have the perfect liberal running for president, Obama. He is promising to do to all of us what he and his fellow liberals have done to the Black community. I ask you to look at what government has done to the hope of his community and ask yourself; do you want to be like the people of New Orleans that you saw on the television screen after Katrina? Dependent on government for everything and having nothing?

Do you want liberals to run your healthcare, make decisions about what car you drive, how often you can run your air conditioner, what foods you can eat, how many children you can have, what religion you can worship, what stores you can shop in, what radio stations you can listen to, or what words you can speak without reprisal?

Liberals of today are trying to do what the societies of history have failed at before them; controlling other men and their lives. It always fails because it is inherently wrong. Our founders knew that and declared that it is our God given right to be free. The governing of ourselves is an experiment that has proven the greatest result since the beginning of time. Liberals do not know better, and are not better for society; they ruin it. Just like the men before them that thought they knew better than you how to live your life. America beware; the liberals are at the gate with their battering rams, it is time to fight…

Obama = Carter

The windfall profits tax, taxing the “rich”, weak on defense, a lack of understanding of American values, talking with terrorist, and a stature of weakness are all commonalities of Obama and Carter.

We can’t afford an Obama now, or ever. This is America and we need another Reagan. McCain is no Reagan but at least he understands the threat of terrorists to this nation. He will continue George Bush’s greatest legacy which is keeping America safe from the people that want to slit our throats.

They don’t want to slit our throats because of George Bush - which is what the left implies - they want to slit our throats because of our American values. The terrorists like Obama because Obama seems to despise the things about America that the terrorists do.

He despises Americans faith in the individual over a collective government; he despises corporation’s ability to make a profit, he despises the fact that we can speak out about him and our government, and he is embarrassed by American pride.

Most Americans are proud to be American. We see ourselves as the source of good in this world, endowed by our creator with inalienable rights; willing to protect the world from the likes of terrorists and despot’s; using our military to insure fair commerce between nations without extortion of those that would; he despises American’s instinctive reluctance to allow too much government control of anything; he would not wear an American flag pin; will he pledge allegiance? Will he protect our nation? Will he represent what America stands for?

The Carter years were a disgrace. That is why Carter has been spending the remainder of his years trying to create another legacy, because his presidential legacy can be summed up in one word; failure.

Do we need to take the Obama path of change? Change to where? Change to what? What is his definition of change? If he wants to change the way American’s feel about America that is change we don’t need. If he wants to change the way our economy relies on the ingenuity of individuals that is change we don’t need. If he wants to decimate our military capabilities, that is change we can’t afford. If he wants to change our system of merit to one of equality of outcome, that is change for the worse.

So what does Obama mean by change? If he wants to take us back to the Carter policies of the 70’s that is a change that will ruin America; again. Listen closely to Obama, and what he doesn’t say in his “glorious” rhetoric. There isn’t an ounce of substance, never mind an ounce of pride in anything he says. He is an empty vessel waiting to be guided by the forces that despise America. He is a Trojan Horse for the forces that despise the rights of you and me. I ask you to listen closely. God I miss Reagan…

Where is the outrage over McCain Feingold?

Presidential candidate John McCain suggested that the recent Supreme Court decision regarding Habeas Corpus for the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay was, “one of the worst decisions in the history of this country”, I agree with George Will's assessment. I would also say the implications of the infringement on free political speech, as defined in McCain Feingold, is as concerning as the current Supreme Court decision. As George Will points out, we must always balance the governments power to detain people indefinitely. What George Will calls "The Most Fearsome Power".

Although I have faith in the military, like any government organization, there is an opportunity to over step their bounds. I don't believe these terrorists should have access to our civilian courts but I would like to see a military tribunal determine the status of each prisoner being held to quell the critics that suggest "innocent victims" are being held without just cause. My gut says that they are holding the most dangerous of our enemies. In that vein we need to make sure they don’t end up being brought here to stand trial. I am still gathering more details but I trust George Will’s instincts about having some oversight.

The point here is where is the outrage against McCain Feingold? He has sponsored and has passed legislation that limits our speech at the most critical time; during an election. I believe this needs to be pointed out. As for his presidential contender, Barrack Obama, he has not shown he deserves his Harvard Law degree. He actually compared the Nuremberg trials to support this decision, not understanding it was an International Tribunal, not a trial conducted in an American court.

Obama stated that Nuremburg showed that we as Americans are above others for having the sense to put the Nazis on trial. As if the US was the place they were tried and it was a US court. It was an international military tribunal and they were hung. There is no comparison and it highlights his ignorance as an individual. Now I am not saying that I would know everything about history, but I am smart enough to keep my mouth shut when I don’t know a subject. There is huge intelligence in knowing when not to speak. Unfortunately, Obama is not that smart.

Terrorism can not be fought through the criminal justice system; period. We tried that and the result was 911. Let's learn from history and not repeat it. That would probably be good advice for the Obama campaign.
